I love this place. The top part is a regular restaurant and the bottom has a bar and open seating. The sushi here is some of the best in town and the portions are generous. I love the house salad (it’s huge), it’s $6 and I order it with my sushi every time. I think the prices are very fair for the location and quality. They have a lot of options like conch for an appetizer. . . But it’s all tasteful and amazing.

First I had to reserve my table online. Which I thought was weird I couldn’t just call. The hostess told me to put in the notes that I wanted an outside table. I did so and got sat inside. Eventually we got moved outdoors when a table became available. It was such a beautiful evening it was a shame to not sit outside. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The food was good. Had the fresh roll and the crunch roll. Nothing really to write home about but I found it interesting that our fresh roll was wrapped in cucumber skin. That was new for me.

The lower level bar section of Umi Sushi just opened today. There is seating at the bar, tables, a lounge area and outdoor seating as well. The decor is rustic modern with a cozy yet upscale feel. They are open later than the restaurant portion of the business and have late night bar hours on Friday and Saturday until 2am. Other nights they’re open until midnight. Another great addition to Kendall Yards. Service was great and they have some appetizers as well. The regular Umi sushi menu is not available in this bar area.

Wow! The best way to tell if a sushi place has great fish is the sashimi. This place has incredible sashimi. Super smooth buttery texture salmon and tuna.

Never disappoints. We love sushi and wander all over Spokane for it. Umi has slowly taken its place as my go to. Used to be QQ but the tiny eating space there just turns me off. Try Umi, you won’t sorry.
