Maybe it would be better earlier in the evening? It just wasn’t great. I had lean brisket – wasn’t very lean, with sides of chili beans and Mac and cheese. Beans were ok, Mac and cheese not impressive at all. The place was dead – never a good sign but it was later in the evening so maybe they cater to an earlier crowd?

We came to Waco from Kansas City and the front desk guy at our hotel recommended this place. We ordered a to go order and when the door dash guy got there they were out of two of the things we ordered. Then when the food got back to us, of the two pounds of meat we ordered pulled pork and brisket. The brisket was all fat and oil. Needless to say this was a huge disappointment. I called and complained and was offered a credit for next time we are in town. No thanks. The beans tasted like regular Bushes canned beans. We always see how good Texas brisket is on YouTube and being from Kansas City we thought it would compete. See picture of our “Brisket”.

I ordered pulled pork and BBQ chicken loaded baked potato for our life group, The food was awesome,the service great,very prompt,due to ordering ahead of time. All the people at life group all agreed that food and size and portions were all more than expected.

The quality seems to have been going down over the years and the portions shrinking. I got a 2 meat plate (lean brisket and sausage) and was very disspointed in the size and the brisket grissle wasn’t trimmed. I asked the clerk about the portion sizes and she was very polite and said I get 1/3 lb total for a 2 meat plate. For $16 I was hoping for a little more.

Uncle Dan’s is a good BBQ restaurant. The staff was great, the food was really good and there is plenty of indoor seating. There is a drive thru if you prefer that route and the service was really fast. I had the two meat plate with two sides. I had the chopped brisket and ribs with mashed potatoes and baked beans. I would say the ribs were really good and the rest was good.
