We learned about Uncle Jack’s Kitchen from The Texas Bucket List TV program (also on YouTube). We knew we HAD to try it, since it was in Tyler … on the way to our family in east Texas. So we tried it April 8, 2023 with my parents. We ALL LOVED IT!

First time going Jun 1 2023. We were in a rush so I got it to go. I’m not sure what I ordered. But I got the large shrimp in a spicy sauce. I can eat real spicy.. these were good but it quickly got too spicy. Nose running, eyes crying, stomach and lips burning . I was able to eat the sausage and about 5 shrimps and 3 potatoes before I quit lol I let my husband. He was down to the last 3 potatoes and quit. But he ate the 2 corns and the rest of the shrimp I think I might of gotten their spiciest sauce. I’m glad I got my kids a small butter shrimp. I got a few from them it had good flavor. Nothing special about the fish though. The fries were good too. I want to be back and try something less spicy next time lol. They are friendly and are constantly cleaning their tables. They were also nice to my 5 and 6 year old. Gave them and icee pop.

My Wife and I had Uncle Jack’s for the first time today for dinner. Let me tell you, there is nothing like this anywhere. The food was fantastic…it’s like a unique twist of a classic cajun and downhome style seafood. The service was fast and friendly, and we had plenty of leftovers to look forward to tomorrow. We will definitely be making Unlce Jack’s a regular stop from now on.

My siblings and I meet every so often to see each other and have a meal together. We all drove at least an hour to meet at Uncle Jacks. My brother and his son got their food first. They were almost done eating by the time my sister got hers. And she was definitely done eating by the time I got mine an hour and a half later. By this time they were closing, so I took it to go. I drove an hour to get home and then finally sat down to eat my food. He did load me up with food, but the shrimp was so over cooked that I could barely get the shell off. All this after paying $48 for this meal. We won’t be returning.

I don’t know why there are so many 5-star reviews.?????? I am from the Houston Gulf Coast area, I guess I’m a little more demanding about my seafood. The food here was comparable to Long John Silver’s, the fried food at least. The sleazy sauces definitely sleazy tasting. If you like a lot of bread on your seafood, this is the place to go. If you like pretty bland tasting food, this is the place to go.

Oh my Lord, Uncle Jack’s Kitchen was like striking gold. This was the best seafood and soul food I have ever tasted. I must say the have to be giving Crab Shack a run for its money. The atmosphere was so relaxed. The owner and waitress were really helpful and provided us with everything we needed. I will suggest this place to anyone. They have a huge list of foods. 5 stars 2 thumbs up. I was very pleased.

Saw Uncle Jack’s on The Texas Bucket List (TV show) and HAD to check this spot out. It was totally worth the 2+ hour drive! Two words – Sleazy Sauce!! Food was amazing! They give you plenty – we had enough to take home. Got to meet “Uncle Jack” and Ms. B – very friendly and down to earth! We will definitely be returning!
