Uncle Rusty’s is easy to miss as you cruise west along Spokane’s 2nd Avenue. It’s in a tough neighborhood, and behind the large windows is a family-run restaurant, Uncle Rusty is one of the cooks, the Mom and daughter wait tables, and the food is made from scratch. The booths are comfortable, and the regulars stream in. The gravy is refreshingly light and the food is not over salted. Sure, the fabric on the booth might be torn from years of wear, but this place will feed your heart and soul if you let it.

We were very pleasantly surprised by this place! The building itself looks a little rough around the edges, but don’t let it scare you away because the food and the service here is exceptional. The coffee was delicious, as were the sweet cream pancakes and corned beef hash. This place is definitely a new favorite for us. The only issue I had was that the bathroom could use some work. I look forward to going here again!

Went to breakfast at Rusty’s Diner. The outside and inside was not much to look at. It definitely looked a little run down. But don’t let that turn you away. The service was outstanding. We were immediately greeted and seated. Everyone was very friendly. Even though I am from out of town, the staff made it feel as if I’ve been coming there my whole life. I ordered the corn beef hash breakfast plate. It was delicious! The corned beef was homemade and not from a can. The hash brown were crispy yet tender. Honestly probably one of the best breakfast meal/experience I’ve had at a diner.

Don’t let the looks fool you. It’s a little run down (old building) and the staff is a little bit on the ‘hick’ side, but they’re very friendly and the food has been good every time I’ve eaten here. Good variety, too, with some creative additions. The hash browns are crispy, which is a plus for my taste.

Unpretentious straight forward dinner food at a excellent price point. No hour long waits, plenty Id parking, and the best prices on breakfast. This place delivers on all the things the train car misses a block away. This is a family run establishment all the staff seem to be related to Rusty who runs the place. Pancakes are plate sized and portions are heaping. Give this spot a shot.

Food was fantastic. We found it on a roadtrip by accident looking for a different and establishment and took a chance on it. The steak and eggs were all cooked to perfection. Service and staff were on point and beyond friendly. My Girlfriend and i have decided to make it a regular stop on our trips to Eastern Washington.
