Our server was stoned out of his mind and was being a creep. The food came and was inedible. We decided to just pay the tab and to find another place to eat. I’ve never done that in my entire life. Wouldn’t be surprised if these guys are laundering money. This is honestly the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to.

Not only was the food we were able to eat bad (overly salty, not fresh, looked and tasted like some of it came straight out of the Gordon Food Services can), but the manager was beyond rude and combative. I think I would have just held back and just opted not to go back again and not written any review had it not been for the interaction I had with him.

I just picked this place off Google because it was nearby, open, and had good reviews. I’m so glad I did. The food was great, the service was friendly, and the price was reasonable. The roast lamb shank was tender and delicious. I highly recommend it.

Stopped by here for a late lunch after the Chicago Botanic Garden’s orchid show. The waiter/owner(?) suggested the vegetarian platter and mixed grill plate as a good sampling and plenty of food for two. We went with the suggestion and were extremely happy with the food (the dosa / stuffed grape leaves were the best I’ve had). The chicken was super moist and flavorful but all the meats in the mixed grill plate. We were also given helpful tips to help enjoy the food more. In addition to the food, we also had the house tea (wonderful) and the Turkish coffee (amazing) paired with some light, crisp baklava.

Variety of Lebanese cuisine but not worth the price, expensive and not that flavorful as expected.

Joseph is a legend. His food and personality are equally remarkable. Joseph’s “puree of yellow lentil” was the first soup for both of my sons back when the location was named Phoenicia. We were so glad to see Joseph’s return with Uncle Tannous. If you haven’t visited, I encourage you to visit soon. I am confident that you’ll enjoy the food and I know you’ll enjoy Joseph talking about the specials, if you are fortunate enough for him to do it. Never a more passionate reading of the specials. 🙂
