Went during a slow afternoon and I was impressed by the service. We sat at the bar top. Bartender was just attentive enough, knowledgeable and anticipated needs. Just had a few beers, cocktails and appetizer but I really enjoyed the pace of service, atmosphere and music playing. I was at ease and able to talk and enjoy my companion. I would return for the bar for sure.

It pains me to agree with others, but this location really pales in comparison to their Edinburg spot. I ordered the tuna and asked that it be cooked well (I’m not a fan of raw fish) and you see what I got. The fries were also anemic and undercooked. The service was pleasant but inefficient, although she did offer to remake the sandwich, which is all you could ask for, but I declined. When I brought it to the managers attention he immediately apologized and removed it from my bill. I will go back because they did handle it very well.

Update: We have continued to come periodically. The food and service are still consistent. We tried a few different items on the menu. They were very accommodating in cutting our burger in half and serving it in separate trays, which made it easier. Our daughter tried The Freshman which was a flounder fried up, not greasy and the other ingredients, including the sliced boiled eggs just made the sandwich. Our son tried the Greek burger which have tzatziki, cucumbers, feta cheese which he stated was fantastic. My husband and I split the Hot for Teacher hamburger which had Serrano peppers, jalapeño jack cheese, avocado and more. It was a little spicy for me but the fries helped. The sliders for our granddaughter was a little too much but she too enjoyed her hamburger. We went to this place about a week ago because we liked the one in Edinburg. Everything was good, the brunch food was great. Was just disappointed we couldn’t order from the regular menu, because I wanted my husband to try the jalapeño bombers. So with in a week we tried it again, this time during happy hour. We tried several different drinks, margaritas, original and mango, moon tang, chang tang and a berry bruiser. We tried the “Hot for Teacher” hamburger, a spicy one, beware and adult chicken strips. Everything was great, the service too.

The University Drafthouse was a nice happy hour location that has a great view of the lake. The food was good and they had a great selection of beers. The service was good and venue was surprisingly nice. All in all a great experience.

This is a great spot for yummy food and drinks located off the 2nd street running trail and overlooking Fireman’s park. The layout is interesting but has managed to preserve a lot of the original structure of the former purpose of the building. I’ve only been here once but the prices are reasonable and I definitely want to give it another try.

This restaurant has multiple inside and outside seating areas. We sat inside next to a window overlooking the lake at Fireman’s Park. The large, covered outside area is nice and also overlooks the lake.
