Up In Smoke is reliably consistent. Food is very good. I love their burgers and loaded baked potato. Service can be slow as they are short-staffed, as are most restaurants these days.

My family and I came through on a Sunday while on vacation and though the wait time was around 30 minutes with a packed dining room I cannot stress enough how much the food is worth the wait. On recommendation I tried the Cowboy burger and my family had Catfish, the roadhouse burger and a smash burger. The cowboy was one of THE best if not THE best burger I’ve ever had. Every component of the burger had a unique twist, the onion straws are to die for and the brisket adds a lovely smokiness to the burger. The rest of the family absolutely loved their food as well. If we ever find ourselves in the middle Tennessee area again we know exactly where we will be stopping!

6/30/2023 Sadly we’re a lil bothered. Today’s visit wasn’t the norm. There were what seemed an insane amount of to go orders today – we sat and sat waiting on the server. My husband is diabetic and everytime we pop in service is super quick. Not today – so the added wait time really affected him terribly. *PLEASE* consider addressing your in house customers first.

Pulled pork was dry BUT the greens saved the meal. Sauces did add a good flavor. Waitress was polite and friendly made us feel welcomed and at home.

From the road I might have passed by but other reviews said stop. I’m glad I did! Excellent pulled pork as well as melt in your mouth thin sliced Brisket. Our waitress was excellent and the personal attention from one of the owners capped the visit off 🙂 Thanks for wonderfull food and I’ll make it a habit to stop by any time I’m in Monteagle…
