Everything was good. The food, the service, the beer, and the atmosphere. As we pulled up, I told my husband let’s go somewhere else because there weren’t many cars. He said let’s give it a chance. I’m so glad we did. Try the bison chili. Ask for Tiphanie. She was very helpful and a great waitress.

The “Brew Rat”
Great service, good beer and burgers. The blue cheese coleslaw is pretty darn good since they use purple cabbage. Lot more crunch. It just needs more blue cheese! Good for small groups unless you like outdoor eating. You can get beer to go in growlers and cans cold. Helps eliminate an extra stop. Victoria is an awesome hostess. Thank you! Server even ran me down to let me know I forgot my cell phone. Nice, nice place!

I made a reservation for my family and I, but knew we had missed the time frame, so we walked in hoping to get a table. I did not mention we had a reservation and asked for a patio table, the server called over a coworker and told her the reservation was here (I had not mentioned it at all, I just asked for a table on the patio), she walked over and berated me for missing the reservation without calling (I had attempted to modify online but there were no slots available as it was Friday) and that they’d allow us a table this time but in the future we need to contact them. I just nodded and said I understood as I was shocked and it was in front of my children, but it was completely uncalled for. The patio was less than half full, and the dining room only had a few tables occupied, which should have been a red flag for 7pm on a Friday. There was no wait or issue getting a table so I’m not sure why she felt like she needed to get hostile about it. If it had been busy, we would have waited or left, there was no need to be argumentative about a walk in.

Oh Carmel. You’re an uptight and pretentious little city, where Mike Pence kept classified documents, but you have some good restaurants and this place is no exception. Some of the menu items seem a little extra for my liking but the burger I had was pretty solid and my family liked the beer. I do wonder if the opposite of Upland is Downville.

PLEASE spray some bug killer out on your patio deck. We ate there last night…servers were delightful, food was good ….but there were ants everywhere where we were sitting, but noticed them only when we mostly through our meal….when we had to fight them off. Never had this problem before at an outdoor restaurant like this.

Found myself in Indianapolis on a work trip and stopped in to Upland for lunch. Tried the tenderloin sandwich (I’m not from IN so this was new for me) and it was great. The beer was excellent and the server was attentive and informative as well. I’ll definitely stop in again the next time I find myself in the Indy area.

Upland Carmel is our go to favorite place for a fun and relaxing time. We come once a week and always have the best time. Aviv, Ricki and Violet are so fun and our favorite bartender and waitresses of all time. This place has great music and a super fun and chill vibe. Definitely give this place a try.
