What a fun time on a rainy evening. We did have to wait a bit to grab a place in the bar, but that wasn’t a problem with a margarita in hand. We sat by the front window which was fun being able to people watch outside as we ordered. I can’t thank the young woman who took care of us enough. She was friendly, made some great food recommendations, and she really made our evening experience perfect. We just had a fun time as we watched the rain come down outside, ate some great food, and rinsed things down with a delicious drink. The relaxed atmosphere was just what we needed.

I loved the frozen margaritas! Highly recommend just the classic. My aunt and I shared the chicken tacos which were so so delicious. The green sauce was the perfect amount of spicy as well. Also, the cheese empanada was perfectly cheesy and saucy so I highly recommend that as well. Otherwise, perfectly satisfied by the margaritas and chips. The chips we’re actually the highlight and had to hold myself back from eating like three bowls.

Loved the chips and salsa— complimentary chips and salsa are really one of my true weaknesses in life. But these ones were so worth it— super tasty. I wouldn’t recommend the taco salad as much. I had a bit of food fomo looking at the other guests dishes— burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, and so on.

Hey hey! Back with another review! Let’s get into it!! We love a great Mexican spot and what makes this one even greater is that it’s black owned! Yassss! Love that! They have a pretty full menu with a lot of great sounding options. The vibe in the restaurant was nice and they also had a great playlist to add the evening. This place also has outdoor seating as well if that is something that interests you. We started the night with the free table chips and two different salsa options. Then it was on to the drinks. They have three different drink sizes….regular, grande and the one and only! I loved that concept. I went with the grande regular margarita. For my entree, I decided to get the seafood burrito with rice and black beans! Everything was delicious! I will definitely be back!!

I was visiting a friend in Alexandria’s Old Town and we were looking for a place to have dinner. A lot places turned us away because we didn’t have reservations. This Mexican restaurant however welcomed us to a cool table with a hip young vibe. The music was also very cool. I had the steak fajitas with beans and rice. I wasn’t disappointed. My friend ordered the chicken tacos and was okay with it. Service was pleasant and we were asked more than once if we needed anything else. I’d say give this place a try, especially if you don’t have reservations. It’s right on King Street about a block from the water.

Visited Urbano during their happy hour on Tuesday and the drinks and food didn’t disappoint. However, happy hour is ONLY available at the BAR. So if you have a large party, I would suggest getting there early.

Went here around 10PM after the Alexandria birthday fireworks on 7/8/2023 with some friends. Had the fish tacos. They had other dishes. The best part of the meal were the complimentary tortilla chips with sauce. The chips were very thin, but strong enough for sauce dipping. I was expecting whole black beans instead of the “refried” black beans that I received. The rice that came with the meal was dry and under seasoned. The fish was simply 2 very long strips of fried fish that lacked flavor. Tonic at Quigley’s at Foggy Bottom in DC has way better fish tacos. My friends said that their meals tasted as expected or were no better or worse than Chuy’s at Springfield Town Center. Service was impeccable and the place was busy. Kept my Coke refilled without asking. I gave this 3 instead of 2 stars due to the late dining hour–wasting expecting much and it lived up to my expectations.

Urbano 116 delivers a flavorful Mexican experience with its delightful fajitas and indulgent quesadillas. Comfortable seating and good service make for a pleasing dining experience. Minor drawback – a bit of a wait for food, but the delicious flavors

The food here is incredible, location amazing, cocktails great, energy so fun. Today Steve and Henry greeted me with open arms for happy hour (best part of the day). Bartenders great, I notice that Rock is always on point with drinks, service, and never relaxes for moment. The staff here is always always hustling, doing more than they need to be doing, and overall seem passionate about the industry and quality of the restaurant. Thanks for a great dinner and wonderful staff Urbano (management sure knows where to find the good ones). Special thanks to Steven especially for the halibut recommendation, I would have eaten 500 of them, and extra homemade hot sauces were incredible as always!
