After being “greeted” by a not so friendly host we were seated among throngs of children, all running around while the unaware parents sat around talking to each other. We went specifically for the famous lobster pie which had a weird taste combination. Not what was expected. Neither was the lipstick stained glass at the table either. I ordered the chicken cabrese panini which was very tasty. The server was friendly and accommodating. But…considering this tavern is in haughty taughty Rumson, the experience was a lot less then expected.

We don’t get here as often as we’d like to, but when we do, we are never disappointed. The staff is friendly and attentive and the food is consistently good. I recently tried the blackened tuna, and I believe it may have been the best I’ve ever had. There’s something here for everyone.. Pizza, wings, pasta, salads, and yes blackened tuna!!.. We’ll make it a point to get here more often. ..

Solid beach vibes. Would eat here again if forced to. I literally wouldn’t even be mad because the food and service and atmosphere were solid. Used to be like an Irish bar kinda vibe, but they switched it up and low key, still kind of a vibe, but more of a beach bar vibe, if you know what I’m saying y’all. Zach, signing off!

Just stopped by for a beer, but staff was super friendly and I don’t think I’ve ever been a restaurant that was so clean. It was spotless and tons of plastic screens to protect from COVID. No main sign from the street, but there’s a little awning once you turn the corner.

Garlic Parmesan wings, delicious! Meatball an ricotta pizza to die for! Wait staff attentive, friendly and professional make you feel at home. Outdoor dining in the summer to indoor dining post restriction this place is a must visit! I haven’t had a better pizza south of Matawan until I ate here!!! Returned for the first time since the renovation. WOW! the inside is priceless. The staff is amazing, the food is still out of this world! Perfect for a first date, a family gathering or just chilling out with your friends.
