Impressive, braised short ribs were amazing. Made reservations, on a Monday night we were seated immediately in a booth. The atmosphere is welcoming, and friendly. Our waitress even brought samples of wine for my wife to try. Cannot speak more highly of this upscale restaurant. Highly recommended.

Went out to dinner with my lady for a special night. Reservation was on point, and they followed my special request for seating. Service was great, and being a cook for 14 years … I can say that the food is excellent! 10/10. Local food is used a lot in their menu, and the atmosphere is very unique. Check it out!

We came here for our 35th anniversary. The experience was awesome. Sean was very accommodating and helpful and informed about the menu. Most places seem to be understaffed at this point in time but the employees here were very pleasant and the service was excellent. The food was above average and we will be back and we will be recommending this restaurant to as many people who ask about a good place to eat. Wausau needs a place like this establishment. The cheese curds were the bomb.

Ok. This hotel is the draw in Wausau. Why? The restaurant. The staff are on top of everything and very personable and attentive. If you are only here once – get the tomahawk pork chop. It is phenomenal. But in addition, the mushroom/corn “cake” that comes with it is out of this world. I hunt/harvest wild mushrooms – I am a fan. Their take on it is like nothing I’ve tasted before. I’ve been here many times, but tonight was my first for dinner here – they will not let you down.

Van Acre is a fantastic restaurant with an excellent bar, and Cody is one of the best bartenders you’ll find anywhere. I recently visited and had the pleasure of trying several of his cocktails, including The Last Word, French 75, and the Aviation, and each one was an absolute delight. Cody’s attention to detail and skillful mixing techniques are truly impressive, and it’s clear that he takes great pride in his craft.
