This diner and food were great! We arrived around 11:30 a.m., and it was super packed. There was a 20-minute wait that didn’t take long at all. We had 6 in our group and sat at different tables to save on time due to so many people there. I ordered the Veggie Omlet with hashbrowns and toast with a side of avocado. My husband ordered the Van Dorn Deluxe with a side of sausage patties (2 nicely sized, not pictured), and we ordered a full stack of pancakes for the kids. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING! 3 pancakes was enough for my 10 year old and 18 month old to share with some left over. I also ordered the special of the day Sunrise Mimosa. It was served in a flute and had more champagne than anything else. Service was great, and the establishment was clean overall. Parking is good as well as it is located in a shopping mall. I would definitely visit again and recommend you try it if you’re ever in the area.

My favorite diner in this area, without question. The interior is clean, light, and fun. The food is good, with a lot of interesting options on the menu. The service is friendly, and while it can get busy it is a nice place to be among the hustle and bustle.

We are from Omaha,Ne and were on family vacation in Alexandria, Virginia. We were in the mood for breakfast however majority of the places stopped serving breakfast after a specific time. We saw that the Van Horn Diner was open and served breakfast all day. It was absolutely delicious and by far the best restaurant we had been to our entire trip. The French toast, pancakes and eggs and bacon were fantastic and the staff were so kind and smiled from ear to ear the whole time. My kiddos loved the restaurant and the staff so much we took their picture with our waiters! We will definitely be back here if we visit again!
