My husband and I went to lunch here and was amazed that they had the desert that we liked. It was called the Turkish delight. I love it. The only other place I got was at the Marina. Anyway, I thought the gyro was OK and the desert was best. The service was easy and fast. The restaurant was a little bit older.

The wraps are good but it didn’t give me a gyro feel. The lamb has very good flavor but the avocado hummus was bland and was missing something. My wrap was a bit greasy at the very end. The customer service was great. Not sure I’ll be back for a gyro but I might try something different. Simple food.

Although I was under the impression that a Gyro traditionally is served wrapped in Pita bread, I still liked what they had. I thought it was almost like a Mediterranean burrito, but guess I was mistaken . Good portions, and welcoming service certainly make up for it, so I’d recommend this spot for a quick bite if you are in to Mediterranean cuisine

I stopped off at Van Ness Cafe & Gyros on my way to the 2022 SF waterfront fireworks. I absolutely enjoyed the various food types and Mediterranean items. The Cafe is very clean, organized and well managed. I ordered dessert and my friends ordered a full meal of Chicken kabobs, Rice, Hummus, and Turkish tea. The prices are very reasonable during this time of inflation. If you have an opportunity, please treat yourself to a meal at the Van Ness/Gyros Cafe

Had a great time and meal at van ness cafe. We were a party of 6 and got combo plates all around. We were served promptly, couldn’t have asked for more. Don’t forget to get some dessert when you stop by. I recommend to try the kazandibi! Also the owner is a cool guy.
