We tried this restaurant for the first time and had some good experience. Ordered variety of dishes and they were almost good. There mutton kabob are perfect and tasted so delicious. Curries were also tasty. They had different naans on the menu. We tried jack fruit biryani for the first time and honestly not the best. Flavor was ok but we did not like it very much. May be the jack fruit idea is not our thing.

I’ve been here 7 times. This is my favorite restaurant in NYC. I order Goat Biryani every time I dine in here or get take out here; and the dish is an extraordinary and purifying experience. I go here to erase the memory of any recent bad dining experiences. And it’s affordable!

The portion sizes are so small! The food was good — not breathtaking but solid — but in smaller portions than I’ve seen in other NYC restaurants. The service was wonderful, the wait staff did an incredibly smooth job.

Everything was really tasty. Ohda when you go to an Indian restaurant they serve frozen food but there tasted real homemade and just like how they would make in panjab. I got dal, panner saag, and eggplant partha with 3-4 garlic/plain/butter naan. The total was about 70 dollars for 5 people. They have clean restrooms btw and nice cold water! I would stop here next time if I ever come.

Went there for dinner with my wife. Hoping it would be authentic Punjabi food.

Authentic Punjabi food serving vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. It’s a small hole in the wall kind of place but they have done a nice job with the ambience inside. It’s fairly small with a limited number of tables but that gives it the charm IMO. We ordered some vegetarian appetizers and the saag paneer for the main course. Both dishes were excellent and I can say they were way better than what I have eaten at most run of the mill India restaurants in the US. We were there on a Saturday afternoon just after they opened at noon and it was not crowded. Good location in east village. Definitely a place that I recommend and will visit again the next time I am in NYC.

The host was friendly . For my taste, food was mix of okay and good and . Couple them were great ! In starters , we ordered paneer pakoda and dhabe wala gobi . Gobi was sweet like desert and disappointing. Paneer pakoda was also disappointing. In main course, we ordered butter paneer, bhindi masala, chhole pindi , pepper chicken and chicken biriyani . Biriyani was good . Pepper chicken was great!!! Bhindi masala was very good as well . Rest were average. The tandoori roti was good and the pooris were the best . Because of the great taste poori and pepper chicken, I will give 4 star.

Overrated. Had Lamb seekh kebab and chicken Kalmi Kebab in appetizers. Seek kebab was good and Kalmi Kebab was so so. In Vegetarian appetizers, had Vere di Gobhi which was too sweet. In main course order Matar Paneer and Punjabi Kadhi. Matar Paneer was kind of watery definitely not like Dhabha style and was difficult to eat with naan, and also the paneer wasn’t soft. Punjabi Kadhi tasted good but the fritters were a bit raw inside (might be how that’s made). But overall It didn’t meet expectations.
