Friendly atmosphere and good food , fast service. we asked for gluten free food and they knew what it was! When I visit Joliet to meet with my good friend, we always stop at Vela’s for lunch. Is it the good food? Yes! Is it the friendly, but professional service? Yes! Is it the kind of place where you can just relax,spend time and not feel rushed with friends or family in the warmth of an enjoyable restaurant? Absolutely! The cost of lunch, also makes it a practical choice for families and friends to enjoy. You know I love it so much, that I’m going back tomorrow.

We had a great meal at Vela’s tonight. My wife and I shared chicken fajitas. The margaritas were great. The owner stopped by our table and we found out that our waitress had been with the business for 13 years. This is the kind of family business that you want to support.

I love every experience I have coming to this restaurant. Its food, warm and friendly environment, and the kindness of the owner speak for themselves. A great spot to step into for a quick lunch or to kick back for a few hours and have a beer or two. Affordable prices and great serving sizes – favorite thing to get are the Steak and Potato tacos, traditional style, on corn tortillas with plenty of green salsa! Highly recommend eating here!
