Little family restaurant with great service, food, prices and drinks. We had a party of 7 including kids & our server was great she went above & beyond to make sure we had everything we needed also another server saw one of the kids spilled a drink and he brought over a pile of napkins, as he ran to another table because he saw us struggling with the few we had left. I’d highly recommend the kale soup, clam strips with onion rings, mac & cheese and the Greek dressing are all excellent!!!! Watermelon or regular margarita are both great.

I came in just before closing, not realizing. They didn’t rush me. The food was good. I had Steak tips and the liver-n-onions. Salad was a bit basic and could have used some cheese with it. The house vinaigrette was nice. They were patient while I ate. Even got soda to go.

We all usually love Vel’s, it was always outstanding. My family went there yesterday expecting the same old Vel’s. We were so disappointed with the food. The pizza was completely different, I’m not sure what they did, but the kids wouldn’t eat it. Two of us got the chicken pot pie, it was beyond bad. Probably the worst I have ever had anywhere..just awful. As of right now, we won’t be going back to Vel’s. Bring back the old pizza and change your chicken pot pie recipe.

What a place to enjoy with family and friends. I’ve been going to Vel’s since I was a kid, and I am turning 58 this year (2023). The number of times I have ever had any complaint, I could count on 1 hand with room to spare, but I have never left there wishing I didn’t go. When you have gone as much as I have and you get excellent food and service your expectations stay high so if the cook had a bad night and it was only a 4☆ instrad of a 5☆ then that isn’t bad at all. If the waitress was off her game (probably because of life or maybe she was new, I always try to make their night better, whether through lifting her up in conversation or tip or both. I highly recommend Vel’s, whether solo or with your wife or a group.

Real nice atmosphere. Just that nice old school feel to it. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive. When we visited a party of 10 showed up with crying babies and I really appreciate that they had a side room for them prepared and didn’t have the group clogging the main area.
