*chefs kiss* this restaurant is excellent and it has such a great vibe. There are different ways to experience the food. There are couches, lounges, places to hang and chill. The upstairs is very well thought out and a lot of space. Now the food, the food is excellent. A great fusion In well thought out dishes. I highly recommend and will be coming back.

I found Vera while looking for a super special place to take my sister for her birthday and as a graduation gift. Our mom is a chef and we have both cooked professionally so we have extremely high standards. We also only had one night in DC and really wanted to make it count. We couldn’t have made a better choice. We ordered absolutely everything we could and every bite was perfection. Our favorites were probably the aguachile, the oyster ceviche, the kous relleno, and the shrimp fritters but it’s truly impossible to choose. The star of the show, without a doubt though, was the mole chocolate lava cake. Our entire drive back to CT the next day, whenever there was a lull in the conversation, one of us would say, “Remember the mole lava cake?” I suspect we’ll be doing this for years. The drinks were amazing, the whole team was beyond welcoming, and the restaurant is beautiful. We’ve been gushing to the rest of our family about our perfect meal, and can’t wait to return some day soon. Thank you so much to the Vera team for a perfect experience!

I went to Vera Cocina last night to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The atmosphere is amazing and the food was excellent. From the hosts to the servers, everyone was very friendly and helpful and went above-and-beyond to make this a great evening. One of the hosts shared the story behind the restaurant and his connection to Lebanon. The hostess treated my friend to a birthday dessert (delicious chocolate lava cake with cinnamon ice cream) even after she saw that we had paid the bill and stopped by to see if we enjoyed our meal. My friend is a foodie with high standards, and he also loved the place.

Loved the atmosphere, drinks, and dessert! If you don’t have a reservation, there’s an option to sit at a bar. Food was alright, but their signature cocktails and dessert were awesome. I’d love to go back. Street parking and valet available.

Amazing atmosphere, fantastic service and good food. The attention to detail they provide their guests makes you feel like a rockstar. The food was delicious and the acorn squash dessert is by far one of the tastiest and healthiest desserts I’ve had. We ordered almost the whole menu and enjoyed all the dishes, especially the bronzino (chefs kiss). I recommend to go try it and enjoy the ambiance, food and warm hospitality. I’m very interested in attending their parties on Friday and Saturday nights.

Fancy Fancy Fancy! Food is divine. The Lebanese fusion is perfectly done in every dish. You won’t have a favorite dish because they will all be your favorite. Atmosphere is always on later at night, right after enjoying a nice dinner with some drinks. Vera, you never disappoint!

I’ve already been here twice, and will definitely keep coming back! This place is a gem in an up-and-coming part of the city. It’s definitely worth making the trip. The food flavors are unique and truly a delicious blend of Lebanese and Mexican flavors and staples. Don’t think Lebanese food stuffed into a taco; it’s not that. This food is elevated! They take the best of the flavors from both cuisines and blend them into dishes like their sublime oyster ceviche, perfectly cooked lamb, tender steak with mole, and my favorite, the crispy-skinned bronzino over a bed of rice seasoned with coriander, clove, and cardamom. Before going, I didn’t realize that Vera Cruz, Mexico, has a large community of Lebanese that arrived into the country in the late 1800s/early 1900s, so this cuisine has a history. And the drinks that I tasted (pretty much everything in the menu because I tried my friends’ drinks too!) are amazing! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Then there’s the vibe. It’s spot on. Perfect dinner setting, casual but elegant. And as the night goes on, it gets a little dimmer and the music gets a little louder until it’s morphed fully into a nightclub vibe by 11:00. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. I’m looking forward to their space opening on the first floor which I think will be a straight up club and event space.
