For sure one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve ever had! We were greeted and seated right away, it was reasonably busy near lunch time. Our server Renee was awesome, shout-out to her! As far as the food, both meat-eaters and vegetarians found awesome soups, salads, and sandwiches. The elderberry lemonade is a delicious treat, and the hidden gem was the pita bread! I definitely recommend it as a side, it was so delicious and flavorful. We couldn’t stay for dessert but I wish we could have. I hope to visit black mountain again so I can come back!!

He Veranda has been our favorite place for lunch in Black Mountain for over 10 years. Consistently good food! It has been under new owners for a few years and we were thrilled to see it still has amazing lunches if homemade soups, salads, sandwiches and desserts. On this visit I had the tasty Kay Salad topped with their delicious homemade chicken salad and homemade bread. My husband was delighted with the Meatloaf panini. Terrific!

My visit to Veranda Café and Gift was amazing. Their service was very fast, the people serving us were very welcoming, helpful, and accommodating. I got to try the elderberry lemonade, which wasn’t my favorite, but it was very fun to try anyway. Their menu is very diverse and you’re sure to find something that fits the whole family. This is the cutest little restaurant in Black Mountain!

The food here was absolutely delicious. We stopped her for lunch while we were on vacation in Lake Lure and it’s a quiet little place above a pizza parlor. The food was better than what I expected and the service was exceptional. FYI the warm Apple Pie and scoop of vanilla ice cream was absolutely the best hands down. I would highly recommend stopping here for lunch as you won’t be disappointed.

Cute place with the most delicious foods. My husband ate the Bavarian pretzel club and he loved and savored every bite. I got the Cuban and wanted to bathe in the mojo dipping sauce. Even my son gobbled up his hot dogs. Def a new favorite place to stop on the way through the Asheville area.

Lots of lunch restaurant options in the town of Black Mountain and we ended up here. Lovely brick walls, comfortable, quiet (which I really appreciate in a restaurant and is hard to find!). While we were waiting for our table, some locals recommended the Hungarian mushroom soup. I don’t usually like mushrooms, but decided it was unusual enough that I should try it. And the soup was delicious. I scraped the soup cup with a homemade yeast roll so I ate every drop. I ordered the cup of soup and half sandwich and upgraded from the chips to the Indian summer salad. My friend had chicken salad and Indian summer salad. Everything was delicious and tasted fresh and healthy. Often after eating at a restaurant, I’ll feel a little gross from the calories or richness of the food. But, I left Veranda I left feeling full, happy, and like I’d made healthy choices while supporting a really delicious and local business. I’d definitely eat here again.

Such a precious dining experience in the town of Black Mountain. Wish we could have sat outside on the veranda, but inside was just as quirky and unique! I had the chicken gyro (delicious tzatziki sauce) with a ginger beer, and my friend the pesto Turkey melt with Pinot. Such a fun lunch and our waiter was very friendly. We loved the fish water pitchers!
