First of all the price to food ratio is horrible. Photos of size is comparable to the sticker on 1inch binder. Secondly I never thought I’d ever have a shrimp burrito that had 2 pieces of shrimp and be dryer than a plain crispy chicken from McDonald’s. The ceviche had absolutely no flavor that I questioned at this point if I had COVID.

We decided to have lunch here after walking by and seeing their pretty patio. We ordered the ceviche ($15 after adding mango and avocado) and the two fish tacos (Wednesday special: $2.50 each), as well as a Tamarindo Agua Fresca. Both of us were blown away. Our meal was so good that we kept smiling and laughing in disbelief at how lucky we were to have randomly decided to go in, knowing nothing about it. We’re very grateful to whoever was working in the kitchen today (08/23/23). They cooked the fish masterfully. Everything was so fresh and we felt so good and energized afterwards. A serious gem of highland park. Everyone was sweet too. Such a delightful experience.

Okay, so I decided to try this place out since I was craving shrimp tacos. First off, the only parking available I saw was on the street and not too much of it. We ordered their shrimp tacos, fish tacos, tostada de ceviche de camarón(shrimp ceviche), calamari rings, and fries. When our order came out, it was missing two tostada de camarón, which we initially thought they hadn’t charged us for because the receipt does not specify the exact quantity of the items we had ordered. I then went to place an order for the 2 missing tostadas and finally realized when comparing receipts, they had actually charged me the tostadas the first time, but they never gave them to me. The girl at the register offered to refund me for the two tostadas I had bought a second time, which I was like, okay, thanks. When she gave me cash as a refund, she gave me less than what the total was?? The total was 16 and changed, and she refunded me 15 exactly. The tacos had good flavor and were of decent size. The ceviche was bland, no flavor at all, and didn’t even taste like lime juice. The calamari was okay, and so were the fries. Overall, it was not a good first experience on both sevice and food. I won’t be returning any time soon.

For someone that’s OBSESSED with mariscos this place in MY OPINION was trash…I would never come back here again the ceviche has no taste the mixed one the octopus was over cooked, the rest was huge chunks was kind of sloppy and put together…will definitely never come back here again never in life did I ever have to add salt to my food and i did a lot. It was very very bland. Save your money!!

Ordered food for myself and some guys I was working with. Came out quick, good prices, and was delicious. I had shrimp tacos and the shrimp pieces were big and meaty, the breading wasn’t too thick, and the sauce on them was great. Definitely recommend this place for a quick bite to eat.

Via-Mar has a daily specials different items for every day of the week (weekdays) their shrimp tacos are the best and fish tacos are pretty good too. Ceviche tostadas are great and the chicken tacos are delicious packed with diced up flavorful grilled chicken, onion,cilantro and topped with a yummy medium mild red salsa
