I did read the reviews first to see if it’s worth betraying my normal barbacoa place and decided to jump right in with the good flow of reviews. This is not what I expected, $18 for all meat that it is not even close to all meat. The barbacoa is in big chunks and has a lot of veins and fat. The carnitas is ok. The tortillas are stuck to one another and the tamales are horrible, falling apart and it’s wrapped in plastic like if it’s warmed up in plastic. Did I mention I spent $80. Smh. Guess what? For the first time there is actually barbacoa left over . Try it for yourself if you don’t believe me.

Very good barbacoa, I wish they had a place closer to where I live but the place isn’t out of the way. Also very friendly staff.

Very friendly, kind, and courteous service, and even though they were busy they did not rush me with my order. The barbacoa was great! I found the carnitas to be a little bit on the dry side for my liking but still very flavorful. The salsas were very tasty and they have their own freshly made flour & corn tortillas. Overall it was very good food and I recommend it to everyone. They also have Chicharrones, 2 liters of soda, avocados, & fresh Pico de Gallo

First time customer and extremely disappointed. Although the employee’s were very pleasant, I can’t say much for the taste of their food, because there wasn’t any (flavor). The menudo and tamales were literally tasteless. Even trying to add our own seasoning at home, it did not make any difference. We all had one tamale each and left most of the menudo untouched. I’m sorry but it was not edible. What makes matters worse it that the prices were ridiculously expensive and totally not worth it. That was $42 dollars down the drain. Maybe the owners should read some of their reviews and learn from them. Just a thought…

I don’t do a ton of Reviews on here. But Exceptional food and Service is Vicky’s Barbacoa. When everyone is closed on Christmas Day. Vicky’s Barbacoa was open and welcoming. It smelled like grandmas kitchen. I ordered everything. Barbacoa,Carnitas,Tamales,Menudo,Beans. When I say exceptional. I mean it. Nothing missed. Everything had great seasonings and spices. Beans are on the spicy side but full of flavor. Flour and Corn Tortillas are great! Best salsas. Green and red. Both are great! Thankyou for making me feel like family. And Merry Christmas!

I drive 10 miles each way, to buy their barbacoa. That’s how picky I am. I can’t understand how anyone can post negative comments about this place. The place is always clean. The man who works the counter has always been friendly and the barbacoa and salsa is the best.

First time trying this place, usually drive to the southside. All meat barbacoa is tasty at Vickys. If you are looking something with more fat and grease, go elsewhere. Glad to have found barbacoa closer to home.

Always the best! Not to mention the customer service; they are always polite and welcoming. I drive all the way from live oak Texas just to get food from here!! It’s worth every mile and every dollar for gas. I definitely recommend this place to everyone. I’m actually headed that way now to pick up some tamales
