Delightful lunch experience. Had the best Vietnamese comfort food and the service was equally wonderful.

Second food stop on our road trip to Philly was the nice Vietnamese Restaurant, my wife says she can’t find a good one here in RVA so I found this place while up there and she loved it, I myself ordered salt and pepper shrimp with rice and grilled vegetables food was amazing and my wife was satisfied but disappointed since she may not find another location as good.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and it was just a hole in the wall. Came today with three generations of my family, some of whom live on the west coast and said they HAD to come to Vietnam for their east coast trek. Still just as good as ever. Everyone loved it. The food is unmatched by anything I’ve ever had. BBQ platter is a must. Jerky papaya salad and save room for the rice pudding with corn. I will be dreaming about this meal until next time.

I love this place. I haven’t been there since before the pandemic, but it was just as good or maybe better than the last time I was there. The six of us started with several appetizers — crepes ravioli, meatballs, pork and vegetable spring rolls. The waiter recommended several dishes to eat family style for our entrees — shaken beef, chicken vermicelli, the best fried rice, grilled shrimp, etc. Combine that with several bottles of Malbec, plus excellent service and it was a great evening. If you haven’t been here, check it out. You won’t be disappointed.

I am very disappointed with the service I received from the owner. I have a little one and unfortunately, he is a picking eater. I bought a slice of pizza for him while we order our food to eat at the restaurant. While we sat there waiting for our food, the little man decide to eat his slice of pizza. The owner came out and rudely said you need to get rid of it and he can’t eat it here or go outside. He was very rude and made a whole scene in the restaurant. I would understand if it was a large box of pizza, but it was a small box with a slice for him. My little man was so sad and I said okay we can step out for him to eat it, he rudely said yes go outside and eat it. He spoke to us like we were some trash. Is that how we treat customers? Then he talked down to his server. The server felt bad about his boss’s actions and still provided us with excellent services. There was no need to be rude and unprofessional about it. To tell a child not to eat their food and have to go outside, while his family eats at the table is very disrespectful. I definitely will not be returning.

This is a great spot for lunch. They have a lunch special for around $15. I had the shrimp rolls for the appetizer – these are shrimps and vermicelli that come in wraps (not deep fried) I also got the chicken vermicelli and ended with a green tea ice cream. Overall I think the meal was delicious and filling and the service was quick and excellent.

Food is just like my family’s if not even better. Good portions and fast service. I just wish the waiters didn’t stand so close to us huddled together. Made me feel like I was being watched. Upstairs has a bit more privacy. Menu prices moderate for area and the fact that Vietnamese food is not hard or expensive to make. Good for date night. Dark wood tables and chairs with soft lighting. Can be loud. Waiting area can be spruced up for sure.
