Tried out Villa di Roma with friends on a bustling Thursday evening. Overall I had a great time, with tasty food and good service. The dishes we ordered were solid Italian fare, although nothing I tried was particularly noteworthy. It was also a little confusing to know where to go to get seated when walking in. Would come back if friends wanted to visit again.

We were in Philly for the NEQ Volleyball tournament. I wanted Italian and found this place with good reviews and did see online they are cash only. I walked on a Thursday evening for 25 min and planned to takeout but they were too busy. I decided to eat at the bar but it would take a while. They stopped letting customers order at the bar and I was so thankful I was the last one since I had to walk back. The lady working the bar area was awesome. I wished I would have gotten her name. She was friendly and the male host too. I ordered the shrimp scampi which was delicious (buttery and garlic)and they served it with bread. If you are in the area would definitely recommend.

Wow, some of the best red sauce (gravy? – I’m not Italian) I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even wait to get a full picture before digging in. The ambiance is classic Italian, the waiters are amazing. Clam pasta isnt the typical lemony garlic im used to, but nonetheless yummy. Meatballs are some of the best I’ve ever had, don’t tell my grandma. Will definitely be back next time I’m in Philly!

This was really good Italian food and satisfied my Italian food craving. I like how it’s a large portion. I got some type of ziti pasta and my friend got spaghetti and meatballs. My entire dish was great and my friend said the meatballs were the bomb. Definitely will come back to this place.

Been hitting Villa since I was a kid. Great Italian restaurant in South Philly! Definitely check out the Villa salad and I always wind up getting the Linguine di Abruzzi. Maybe one of these days I’ll change it up. lol

Pregnant while visiting Philly from out of town and baby wanted some pasta We scoured the internet for the best Italian in Philly that was well established but didn’t want to pay $40 a person for our party of 3. We found this place and were so glad we did. A short Uber from Center City here, we were seated quickly and were greeted by our kind server. My husband got the gnocchi and added meatballs. I got fettuccine Alfredo and added chicken. My meal was delicious and the gnocchi was definitely the best I’ve ever eaten. Even the sauce was dreamy. The portions were huge and we had lots leftover. Our 5 yr old got a side of pasta with sauce which was an ample serving for a kids-type meal. She loved it also. Overheard a server telling another customer this place has been around for 75 years. You can definitely tell because they’ve perfected the art of Italian cuisine. We will definitely be recommending this place to anyone who says they’re going to Philadelphia.

We stumbled upon this place on a Thursday evening and were able to get seated within five mins. It’s a lovely, family run, traditional, authentic Italian restaurant. We checked reviews before ordering and decided to start with mussels red (they were super tiny but the sauce was flavorful) and the fried asparagus (6 little pieces for $8 I think). Wouldn’t get either of those again. For entrees, we got ravioli and meatballs (8/10) and the seafood linguine (7/10 a bit too salty). Everything is fresh and made to order so that’s nice. There’s also a bar inside if that’s your thing 😉

I placed an order for 2 orders of manicotti and instead I was given 2 orders of eggplant parmigiana and rigatoni. I had confirmed my order before leaving and when I arrived at home, opened the bag this is what was packed. I drove 2 hours round trip for what I had been craving all week was manicotti. I paid more than what I had ordered. Extremely disappointed!

We stumbled across this place walking and need to stop for drink . This place was absolutely amazing ! Everyone was so kinda. We watched as their workers were greeted with hugs and kisses as they arrive for their shift . The lady behind the bar was MARIANN , with an i ! Sweetest lady , she told us her dad had owned the restaurant since 1964 . There’s 3 sisters n 3 brothers , 1 brother now owns the restaurant and all of the siblings pretty much work there .. for free ! Mariann is on her mid 70’s and is a little firecracker the way she was running around serving people . Such a wonderful .. it was a high lite of my trip just listening to the stories . And don’t forget they sell their own pasta sauce ! Yummm YOU MUST STOP BY THIS PLACE … amazing!
