We’ve been here in Tyler for almost a month now, and we’ve been searching for that “one” restaurant that we really like. This one has come the closest so far. The venue was great. Our Ukrainian waiter, Ihor, was very good too. The food was good, but fell just shy of the “wow” we were hoping for. The food presentation was good. All in all, the value was still good. We will be back again and we’ll recommend it to our friends.

It was great to be back tk the best restaurant in Tyler with Latin, Mexican flavors. I felt so welcome by the staff, got a drink by JoJo and Andrea, server jennifer and Nestor coordinated our group wine / food dinner with world class service, they are top notch and attentive can’t wait to be back and order other tasty drinks and plates from menu.

Villa Montez is one of the top restaurants in all of East Texas. The view is amazing and the history of the building makes it even more interesting. There are several different dining areas throughout the restaurant making for a different experience every time you visit. This includes a beautiful, large patio, bar area and the cellar. The staff is very friendly and extremely accommodating. Love the Latin-inspired menu plus some really good burgers. The steaks are cooked perfectly. The cocktails are very good. The bartender makes a very good old fashioned. The desserts are very tasty. Can’t wait to spend time on the patio and try some of the other menu options.

Montez has some of the best Latin food I’ve had around Texas. The ambiance of the place is so unique, it’s pretty much an old house. It really makes you feel at home. The service was great, recommended a lot of choices off the menu. Everything I had was delicious and if this was in DFW I’d go once a week.

Great experience, great food and service! We met wonderful patrons and staff. We had the special NY strip with chimchurri and shrimp, the margarita shrimp with sauce was amazing. We ate the sauce on everything. Chips and salsa were delicious too! We will be back soon.

First time here..off the beaten path. Arrived around 5:10 on a Saturday. Parking was easy and up front. Seated immediately, Service was amazing, Thank you Phillipe!! Carne Asada had amazing char grilled flavor,very tender. Buttery! Seafood enchies had ample fish and shrimp. Not over cooked..just right. Whatever that sauce is they put on it, they need to jar it and sell it! Only thing I would suggest to them would be to add some pico de Gallo to the entries. Pico adds freshness! Overall I give a 5 to this restaurant!

Not what I expected. Had pretty high hopes. Our waiter was great. Very attentive. The atmosphere seemed like being in an old house, electrical work not finished. The food…….seemed microwaved. It was steamy when delivered but was still cold in the middle. Just expected more from the place.
