THE most beautiful place in Michigan City, an incredible blend of European culture and old world restaurant/bar. The Italian Old Fashioned during was a great accompaniment to our multiple amazing appetizers (seafood/sausage peppers, charcuterie board). My meal of Peri Peri chicken was incredible and tailored to my respective spice level (hot and flavorful, as the chicken was clearly marinated). The carrot cake was ridiculously delish. What an amazing place and feel!

My husband worked here back when it was Basil’s, so when we were in town we thought we’d stop in to try it because we’d heard it was good. A lot of the original touches are still here, and it would easily be a great date night choice. Food was excellent, and they did have gluten-free options. Wine list was solid, and our waitress was wonderful. Advice if you need gluten-free – do the pasta, with half marinara and half arrabbiata. The arrabbiata is spicy, and I love spicy; doing half and half was perfect. And they did have gluten-free bread that was perfect for sopping up sauce. And the gelato flight for dessert is amazing, especially the lemon and pistachio.

We love this place! From the experienced bartender to the fantastic wait staff! I hate to leave a review because I want to leave it for myself! Each dish was amazing! I’ve been to quite a few nice restaurants, this is one of my favorites! It is NOT pretentious! Everyone will feel comfortable! If you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out! They even have outside dining!
