I’m thinking their pizza must be good since a lot of people had ordered pizza, the rest of the food ordered at our table was average at best. The lasagna was so sparsely layered with too much ricotta cheese swimming in sauce. The Alfredo was swimming in sauce as well. Garlic rolls were hard. There has to be a better option for Italian. The place was packed but I’m not sure why unless people are coming for the pizza.

Food was OK, nothing great, seamed like a metropolitan restaurant rushing you, no change to look at menu and waiter was on you! Felt like the table was being held for some other 4 some! Like favoritism when they told us no reservations on the phone. But to boot they put 20% tip on the bill!! Not that I wouldn’t do 20%, but who are they to tell me what the tip was!! The other Vito’s on route 5 is 100% better. Wouldn’t go back and my friends wouldn’t either!

We booked a room for 20 people on a Friday night about a month or so ago. It was a special event. They asked us to choose five items for the menu. Each item being about $25. And we bought several drinks and several bottles of wine. That being said, our tip was not included in the bill.

Quite the delicious array of Italian-American classics. Creative takes on additional dishes. Specials offered seemingly daily. Good selection of drink and wine. Friendliest restaurant staff in Southern Pines. Outdoor seating when the weather permits. Very comparable to a mid-level Italian restaurant in New York City. Variable decor from kitsch to modern. Ample parking. Wide selection. Tasty desserts. They’ll mix and match sauces with pastas upon request. I recommend the meat tortellini, the spinach ravioli, and the bruschetta. . Shutter-style shades on the windows come in very handy in the North Carolina afternoon sun.

The service was the only thing good about our experience tonight. First, the rolls were a huge disappointment. The salad dressing was below average. Definitely not homemade. I ordered shrimp fettuccine and it was pasta drowning in sub par American Alfredo sauce. The shrimp was delicious. My husband ordered chicken marsala and it was almost a joke at how bad the chicken and the sauce were. Cash only after all these years of serving So Pines. I do not recommend this place.
