We moved to the area about 8 months ago and have had really hard time finding authentic Mexican food close to home since moving. We just happen to stumble upon Viva Zapata this weekend and omg….I am so upset that we just discovered this place!!! Food is amazing and seasoned so well. Fresh ingredients and made with love. We’ve been deprived of authentic food for awhile since moving this way. We kept trying new places and being disappointed, but this place was 10/10. We’ll definitely be back.

It was a pretty basic place. I almost felt like I was in Mexico because your eating off a Styrofoam plate with plastic cutlery. Very simple table and chairs, simple menu with a lot of things written by hand and pictures if food taped up beside the description etc.

Best lengua tacos I’ve ever had hands down. Had a side order of guacamole and it was top notch, fresh ingredients, one of the best. Great customer service, fast and friendly. Must stop and give this restaurant a try, you won’t regret it and will be back. I’ll be back if ever back in town.

Service is alright, is family owned. Some lady always has attitude. But the servers are always cool. Food expensive for no reason. I just work bu there. But food be cheaper and i get more food here in Chicago, Logan Square; than here in ElkGrove.

This place is kinda hidden off Busse, behind the McDonald’s, but it’s so good. I come here on my lunch, and get the tacos and the tamales. Always excellent, and the employees are so nice.

Food is good but the girl that takes the orders for one doesn’t know how to take down your order correctly and secondly has a horrible horrible attitude! Luckily for me there are plenty of tacos spots around here with a lot better SERVICE and great food! Not sure who puts cheese and lettuce on their chorizo tacos but i sure don’t.
