Hood River has many fantastic restaurants, but this place is such an underrated gem. The tasting menu was positively divine. Nathan was a wonderful attentive host and Sarah is quite possibly the most talented food artist in all of Oregon. Calling her a chef doesn’t do her food justice. Her meals were art. I will remember that tasting menu meal for the rest of my life. I wish I could eat here every night. If you are in the area and want an intimate, delectable meal, make a reservation (while you still can; I will not be surprised if this place is constantly booked solid once word gets out about how spectacular the food is, so get a table for a nice evening out). The restaurant is a relatively new addition to Hood River, but the restaurant prides itself on local and fresh ingredients. Even the house-made bread and butter are too die for. I adored the smoked sablefish risotto with pea flowers and the ora king salmon with choron sauce. Everything was perfectly balanced and a delight to the senses. I hope the next time I visit Hood River I get the chance to see it shining amidst the other wonderful local businesses of the area. Given how artistic the meals are, I would love to see local artwork on the walls like a gallery display. It would compliment the beautiful dishes perfectly. Definitely give this restaurant a call and make a reservation to enjoy a truly fantastic foodie experience.

We were floored by our experience at Votum. My husband and I participated in the chef’s tasting. Each course was gorgeously presented, but the taste left us speechless! Everything was seamless, understated, and genuine. The wine was perfectly paired and Nathan’s service left nothing to be desired.

Excellent dining experience with incredible food and fantastic staff! So nice to have a new fine dining option in Hood River. The owners have obviously put a lot of careful thought into every detail. Every dish that we ordered, from appetizers to dessert, was a delicious work of art! The truffle risotto is the best risotto I have ever had and the swordfish is incredible! The lemonade is a must! Eating at Votum was more than an excellent meal, it was also an excellent experience! Highly recommend, will definitely be back!

Congrats Votum! Our experiences were great from the moment of confirming two reservations; one for the Oyster Hours followed on the next day with a family tasting menu dinner. Nathan’s pre-reservation communication was prompt and gracious. We greatly enjoyed both experiences. Food is locally sourced – the bread, butter and candy are handmade in the restaurant. The wine list is impressive in this tiny gem of a restaurant. A few of our party had food intolerances which were carefully considered in our tasting menu dinner. The chef is creative and talented. We are glad to have found Votum. We’ll be back soon!

I feel transported whenever I dine at Votum. Yes, it’s expensive but the food is carefully created by a genius named Sarah. The flavors and layers that Sarah imagines are incredible and the presentation is pure art. Nathan is the second half of the team and he is always knows what wine to suggest and has great knowledge about each dish/creation!

So excited to have a true fine dining restaurant in Hood River. We tried the 9 course fixed menu and every dish was amazing. Beautiful presentation, use of local fresh produce, fresh seafood and an extensive wine list. Highly recommend to foodies who enjoy fine dining experience outside the city.

A truly excellent addition to Hood River. We just popped in for a few appetizers and a glass of wine before dinner without knowing what to expect, and the level of food and service makes this a cant mix. A top to bottom excellent by the glass wine list, terrific oysters and caviar. Excited to come back for the Prix Fixe menu and try all this place has to offer. Sarah and Nathan have got something really special on their hands here, a must go

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. Nathan and Sarah put their heart and soul into their venue resulting in one of the best cuisines in the region. Their experience comes through and offers Hood River a top shelf experience. It’s worth the drive from the Portland Metro area. Yes, it has a higher price point, but it is fully warranted based on the exceptional quality. I will return for the pre-dinner oysters; and, the Tasting Menu.

Great food, great service. The owners are personable and talented and create a welcoming and intimate atmosphere! Made a reservation on a whim taking a chance on a fancy dinner which is not a common theme for us, and couldn’t have enjoyed it more.
