The reason for three stars is primarily about customer service. When the food was ordered I was very clear that I did not want cilantro in any of the items as I do not like the taste of cilantro, but when my pho came out it was loaded with cilantro (in addition to scallions) and I had to bring it back and they stated that it was scallions when I know the difference between what scallions and cilantro look like. The replacement bowl that came out was skimpier than the original bowl and did not include the jalapenos or the scallions, and when I requested jalapenos they weren’t brought out in a cup, but rather in the server’s hand that was at least in a glove. We also ordered the pork belly bao appetizer, but that came out with the soup and the rice bowl instead of as a first course and that thankfully did not have cilantro because that came out after I had returned the bowl of pho. The other reason for the three stars is that the pho was rather bland tasting despite the menu stating that it was a 23-hour broth. It really needed the addition of the hoisin sauce and the chili sauce that are on the tables. It’s a shame that the food was not what I was hoping for as it’s pretty convenient to where I live, the menu item descriptions are fantastic, and the establishment is very bright and clean, but I guess I need to get my pho fix elsewhere.
