We have eaten many times at waffle houses across the country and have no complaints about most of them. This particular one had issues. Our waitress was not familiar with their own menu and there was an obvious communication issue, even if we pointed to what we wanted on the menu. She never refilled drinks even after asking her repeatedly. I think our waitress may want to consider a different job better suited to her skills.

Good as always though my experience may not be typical: they know me and they know I’m easy to work with (virtually never have additional requests or complaints) and I tip heavy (50-70%, has been over 100%) so I get almost perfect service once they learn who I am. I say “almost perfect” because I have a singular, unusual complaint everywhere: Stop trying to freshen my coffee! It’s finally cool enough to drink!

Worst waffle house experience ever. There was only 6 parties there and we waited a good 10 minutes for a table to be cleared off ( 3 booths and both low and high bars were full of dirty dishes). Honestly, I think they were trying to get people to place to go orders because instead of saying “here let me clear off a table.” It was “are yall placing a to go order”. Another customer had to get syrup and other condiments from the dirty tables because the waitresses weren’t paying attention at all, just walking around with headphones in. A gentleman had gotten food to go and when he received his food it was missing the bacon and he let to waitress know, he then waited another 15 minutes for it and finally asked the manager for his money back. Her response was “well your bacon is right there” pointing to a plate of it sitting on the pass. No apology at all. Another lady tried switching seats because nobody offered her service. The cooks were only allowing one order to be called at a time and wouldn’t take another one until the first was complete done. The staff was filling the napkins holder vs cleaning off tables! They served food in to go containers instead of washing the dirty ones! I will never go to this location again. The whole crew should be fired. It’s a shame that a brand new waffle house has already been run into the ground so quickly.

Absolute worst waffle house that I have ever been to. Our waitress, Shana seemed to be on drugs. She never checked on us and when we flagged her down to get her to drop our waffle, the old waitress with long grey hair took it to her customer. She not only did this once but 3 TIMES!! We waited 30 minutes for 1 waffle that we never got. We will never go back.

The food was OK. The manager was in the back when she should have been assisting the cook. Way behind. The server was old and decrepit and the order was repeated several times. The server forgot parts of the order. She needs to do something else. There were 4 in our party and the bill was over $60. I don’t think she could add properly. Big waste of money and time. This location was a new store on HWY 31 in Athens, al.

Overall I would say very good.. was supposed to get a Patty Melt Meal .. got a burger on Texas Toast. Nowhere near a Patty Melt. I am a restaurant owner and didn’t complain.. I know how hard everything is right now. The burger was good.

Went in the afternoon, it wasn’t busy. There was no wait. However we stood there for 15 or 20 minutes waiting on someone to clear a table. They saw us standing there and said not a word. Not even a hello. Only half the restaurant was at capacity but there were 8 workers there. I finally asked after standing and waiting, if someone could clean off a table for us. An older white lady with her grey hair in a pony tail said, “when we’re not busy.” It was rude. She could’ve said give me just a few minutes, etc. We left. I’m never begging anyone to serve me or take my money. They were busy talking or doing menial tasks like straightening syrup bottles, etc, instead of clearing tables.

This was a fairly new location and already one of the worst I have been to. ( And that alone is saying a lot). The cooks were screaming at each other about cleaning the grill. Server could not answer questions about the $2.75 juice box. Server forgot bacon for everyone at the table and when asked about it I was told to be patient she was trying to serve other customers. Food was burnt and this wasn’t even everything but should be enough to get my point across. 0 out of 10 NEVER GO HERE!

Service was extremely slow. Waffles were flat and little. Not big and fluffy like they use to be. They were done on the outside, but not the inside. Waited 15 mins for our check and waited 15 more standing at the register just to pay. The silverware was nasty. The tables were nasty. Two people walking around with their hands in their pockets. True, we didn’t have to pay for one meal because well, like I said, the waffles weren’t done( Not even the remake of them). The waitress didn’t serve us one thing. We had three different people wait on us. It sure wasn’t anything like I am use to Waffle House being like. No hustle and bustle at all. The girl cook with what shaved head was rude to a waitress and really thought she knew her stuff. Well, she needs way more training before thinking that.

Terrible. The waitress was so unfriendly, did not check on us one single time. Did not have gravy, waitress did not even offer to make any. The bacon was basically raw. The manager wound up helping us. Coffee was lukewarm. Staff talking about customers. Cook going to the back and eating and then coming back to cook without taking off or changing out his gloves. Will not be coming back.
