We were there during the lunch hour and even though there were only 2 of us we sat at a table set for 4 because the 2 top tables seemed small and right against the wall. The dining area was spacious with several different rooms and a bar area. There were many sized tables set from 2 to 20.

Food in all wasn’t too bad but the salad bar for the price wasn’t really that great. Just some greens,a few toppings some potato salad and such..not really that much. Could probably have been a good thing but I’m from so calif and used to alot more at not nearly as much money.

Very friendly wait staff. The country fried steak was house made, not from a box. They also make their own breaded pork tenderloins. Others really enjoyed their prime rib. Lots of seating. Very clean.

We had a small get together with family sunday night.The food was spectacular! The service was the best we’ve had at the wagon wheel. Our waitress was spectacular. The new potato salad on the salad bar is great. Please keep it. My steak was cooked to perfection. This was by far our best visit to the wagon wheel.

So if you like deep fried food come here..but for myself I felt like some of it was too greasy BUT everything is homemade which is hard to find nowadays. We got the deep fried cauliflower for an appetizer and they definitely give you your moneys worth but it was nothing special..the batter had no seasoning and it was so greasy, I would not get again. Then I got the French dip which was decent especially since you could tell the meat was homemade and my fiancé got the patty melt which you could also tell was homemade and said was good too, not the best but good for the price. Overall I’d come back to try more stuff but it definitely wouldn’t be my first choice.

We come here every time we are in Sterling! Sometimes making excuses to go tbh as it’s an hour away from us. But the food is so good! It’s all homemade and worth the drive! Other reviews about service must’ve forgotten we are in a post Covid world and IL was one of the most impacted states in regards to restaurants. Not to mention everyone is short staffed because no one wants to work anymore. Gotta remember that when you complain about wait times etc!
