Great homemade chicken salad! Staff was friendly and proud of the history of the grill. Famous hotdogs were recommended by the customers. Variety of items are on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Highly recommend! Mr. Bill the 30yr owner has it up for sale for $250k for someone looking a small business with deep roots.

It was pricey. $11.50 for 2 hotdogs one fry 2 drinks. But maybe I’m not used to the new price. It was really good but left hungry.

I love Walter’s Grill. Every time I am in Murfreesboro, I make it a part of my trip to eat there. I have always loved their chef salads, but this visit I had the barbecue and candied yams. Delicious! And the hush puppies were perfect. And their sweet tea is rich and sweetened to perfection.

Food there is great. I love the breakfast. Just one issue that I have an I’ve noticed it several times. When you get a hamburger or hotdog fixed even though they wash their hands they don’t put gloves on. I’ve seen a box with gloves right on the counter. Sometimes they wear them sometimes they don’t. That’s the only issue that I have.

My family used to stop and eat here when traveling through Murfreesboro in the 1960s and 70s. I had not been in decades so when my husband and I were in the area, we decided to stop in. My heart turned over to see the same booths. I was flooded with warm memories of my childhood. Aside from that, unfortunately, there is not much good to say. My husband ordered a hamburger. It had an odd flavor, and he couldn’t eat it. I ordered the Nathan’s hot dog. I am a Nathan’s hot dog expert, and this was not like any hot dog I’ve ever had (or ever seen, for that matter). To begin with, the color was neon pink. It didn’t have that Nathan’s spicy flavor or crisp bite. It even stained the bun with the same pink color. The chili was gritty and very greasy. I will add; however, that the tea was good. I will stick to my fond memories of yesteryear and we will not be returning.

My experience was terrible. Food was terrible tastes like it had been frozen for a long period of time then heated up. The food wasn’t fresh at all. The service was dull and very spotty. The waitress was always in the back with the cooks laughing and joking around while I was waiting for a refill. Would not recommend this establishment at all.
