We enjoyed our meal at Weeks Cargo. The decor is rustic and beautiful. The vibes are there in a major way. The server was attentive and kind. She emailed we had all that we needed. The food was good. I would give it a good 4. It just didn’t quite meet the expectations of my seasoned palate. I would enjoyed a more flavorful bite. One that made the chicken stand apart or the tomato sauce tasted less like tomato water.

Our Party of 5 enjoyed our meal. The Beer and wine list is relatively limited, no Liquor available. The Restaurant is casual and Family Friendly. All are welcome, family owned & operated. Enjoy a casual meal…. I have returned several times since my first visit, and would recommend them.

If you want a good home cooked meal with fresh meat and veggies (the best Brussel sprouts) this is the place to go! Wonderful food! Amazing home made style desserts. The meal comes with your choice of meat, two sides a roll and a salad! Yummy house made vinaigrette salad dressing. Very fresh! Love that it’s a local restaurant and I’m supporting a local family also.

My crab cakes, butternut squash casserole, homestyle fries, salad and buttered roll were absolutely delish and melted in my mouth!!! You could tell quality ingredients were used! Especially with the crab cakes…they were a generous size and flaked nicely as I prepared to eat each bite…Please keep in mind after hiking Stone Mountain I decided to walk from the Mountain to the closest Restaurant…there were other options but they just didnt appeal to me…So I walked into Wells Cargo Cafe pleasantly surprised with the quality meal and quality service…they even accommodated me with providing a way for me to charge my phone & connect to their wifi….Stellar experience

We got there just after 5, parked and waited for the 5:30 opening, coming from out of town. We made 2 friends in the parking area, one asking for money, and one asking for jumper cables for their car. We go to the door, and no they are not open at 5:30, 5:35, 5:40… We called and got the answering machine twice, and then we left. We are now eating at the German restaurant and bakery 6 min away…

We’ve recently moved in the area and are having a blast discovering the hidden treasures of Stone Mountain. Wells Cargo Cafe is difficult to see from the outside but once in, your in a very dim atmosphere with a fire place and a candle is brought to your table by one of the owner. The decoration is old country antiques style. Apparently, they’re open in the evenings from Wednesday to Saturday nights. They have a menu with usual American food like burgers and sandwiches. They also have a large selection of daily specials. My friend had the salmon and was very happy with it. My husband got an amazing chicken Parmesan (his words). I got the BEST garlic shrimp pasta EVER. All our plates were very good, fresh and well served. The price was about $15 a plate but the burgers or things like that were half that price. We were curious and got a slice of home made chocolate cake. Because we were so full we had it to go. Later that night we ate it and it was a delight. Wells Cargo Cafe is truly a local gem.

Upon entering the restaurant my husband and I stood awkwardly in the entrance, unsure if we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. After a couple of minutes we just took a table and waited for someone to greet us. The waitress came over and presented us with menus and a chalkboard menu with the specials on it and took our drink order. I had the garlic shrimp pasta and my husband had a burger (after we were told they were out of the special he wanted.) Neither of us were particularly impressed with the food or with the waitress. She seemed cold and uninterested in us and spent much more time on the regulars. The decor is nice. The tables and chairs are all hodgepodge from different sets and there are antique items scattered around. All together, it was a slightly uncomfortable feeling as we felt like outsiders intruding on a place where only the regulars are welcome.
