This is definitely in my top3 favorite places to order grilled food. The flavor is very intense and so well seasoned. Not too pricey and actually worth the money. The fries and rice are rather generic but that’s not what we order grilled food for anyway right? The food is great portions and absolutely delicious. I always eat the ribs and the chicken I am not a fan of chicken just because of the smells when it’s not cleaned prior to being cooked. But this chicken does not have that odor so I can assume they clean their meats prior to marinating. And the waiting times arent long at all. But if you plan on ordering for holidays just order early otherwise you will get nothing. They are a very popular and busy spot and rightfully so.

First time eating with a party of four. There were only 2 tables as the place is really small. Overall the food was good. The ribs were very tender, but they chopped them up a bit. The chicken was good also. I like Burnet rice better, this rice was red. The fries were omitted from our platter but when brought to her attention she fried up some hot fries and put them in a to go tray. They were delicious.

Great food! I love the amount you get for the price you pay. I always buy the rice and beans and get a side of fries. I can eat alot but even i cant eat all that they give you. Overall great place to get your money’s worth of food and then some. Everything is reasonably priced and the staff is really friendly. I recommend eating here!

If I could give negative starts I would. Disgusting. Steak was tough. Veggies were raw. Garlic butter taste like vinegar. Chicken bland. Salmon salty. Will never go there again. Threw food in the garbage.

The food here is really good. There is never a long wait whenever I go. The customer service here is good. Your always greeted with a smile and Pleasant conversation. The prices are very reasonable. I would recommend this.

By far the worst BBQ I’ve had. First of all $29 for a comb. The chicken was dry the beef ribs was really chewy the rice was hard. The only thing that was good was the fries an the beans. I would never order from here again. What a dissatisfaction that was

Pretty good. I’d had my eyeball on this place since I moved to Newark almost 3 years ago and hadn’t been. Finally I just had a craving that I couldn’t ignore so I came in. Guy behind the counter was friendly and my order was taken pretty quickly. Got the Garlic Shrimp & chicken with rice & fries. Order came out pretty quickly too and I rushed home to try it out since I was starving. First off this is a huge tray of food. Definitely enough for two people or more. Chicken was juicy and tender and better with the bbq/hot sauce that was provided. Shrimp had a decent flavor though maybe a little overcooked. The rice was perfect and I used the leftovers for a dish the next day. French fries were okay. They got the bbq/hot sauce treatment too and were devoured. I’d come here again if I had a craving since it’s right next to my house and if I was being lazy though I’ve honestly had better and I know there are better spots in the area.

I always pass this place because I dont live to far from it. I always say I need to try this place it looks popular.. so today was the day where I ordered from this place and LAST. I called and placed my order and the young lady said to me that delivery wasnt until 1130am. So I wanted a half an order of rice chicken and fries. I ask her how much was my order was and it was almost $10 for a HALF. Then I proceeded to ask her how much was a full tray and she said 15.99 plus 3.00 for delivery. I then just changed my order to a full tray because it just made more sense. So my order is in and now I wait. Its 12 noon already and my food is not here yet, I call and the lady tells me the food is on its way. Mind you guys I live a few blocks away. So I finally get my food and my wife goes down to get it. She has to walk to the car because the guy didnt come out to bring her the food. She comes up and says the guy was flirting with her and how unprofessional that was of him. We sit and serve OURSELVES and the chicken was not cooked all the way and the fries were soaked with oil. So I called and told them and the lady was nice and set us another try. Same thing happened where the guy didnt get out the car. Lol! I come up with the food and the chicken was over cooked dry and had no taste. Rice was dry and fries soaked in oil. I didn’t bother calling back and just trashed the food. I wont ever buy from there again. They are over priced. I will stick to my roots and eat in IRONBOUND! There is were everyone needs to go! Sorry guys I didn’t like your food. I will say the woman on the phone was nice.

Changed management and now seriously over priced. I got a little box for ten dollars I was hoping to feed a few people with the half combo but it barely feeds one. The food tasted like it was left over night. Not a great experience.
