Having lived in the Chicago area for 13 years and having eaten a lot of Chicago pizza, this was ok. The ingredients were on the slim side of things. The Greek salad was not a traditional Greek salad as I had expected, having lettuce as the main ingredient. I gave it a rating of 3 because of the food though the service and atmosphere was good.

I stopped into this local pizza joint yesterday- it was delicious! The crust was perfectly crisp, the sausage was great, and who doesn’t love classic pepperoni, mushrooms, and olives? The toppings were generous and the cheese was great- everything tasted really fresh. The dipping sauces (ranch and cheese) were great- clearly made in house. A nice homemade ranch dressing that doesn’t taste like it came out of a generic bottle really makes a difference for me- perfect to dip the crust in. The staff were super friendly and attentive, and I got a parking spot right in front. This is my new favorite pizza- it’s classic and affordable!

Born and raised in the South Chicago burbs, I’ve been on a mission to find a tavern thin pizza that reminds me of home (Vito & Nick’s is hard to match, even in the Chicago area). This actually came close. Cracker thin crust, cooked well done, toppings to the edge, perfect amount of sauce – nailed it. The sausage was lacking the Italian sausage fennel hallmark of most Chicago pizza joints and had a different flavor profile than I was used to, but it wasn’t bad. It’s difficult to find good sausage on pizza anywhere other than Chicago, so I only docked a star (though that’s being really nitpicky). They do mix their own and chunk it in Chicago fashion (though a bit smaller than what I’m used to). I’m curious to try the Italian beef next. 🙂

Good deep dish pizza. More of a cornmeal crust than a flaky butter. They have Jones soda on tap. Really wanted an Italian beef but will wait for our next trip there. Parking is easy on the street to the east. Was wide open at around 6. You can’t park in front of the door but still very close. Lots of tables inside.

As a Northern Illinois transplant to Seattle, I was very excited to try West of Chicago as I very much miss the Pizza style I grew up eating. Yes, Seattle has great Neopolitan, NY, West Coast examples but we were lacking a true Midwest style thin, crackery crust, spicy/slightly sweet sauce, creamy cheese , properly cut (squares, rectangles, triangles) option.

My first time having Chicago style deep dish and it was amazing. Had there original and a sausage, pepperoni and garlic. There sauce is crazy good and the sausage is out of bounds good. Its take like 40 minutes to make them but it is worth the wait!! I’ll definitely be coming back!!!

Good pizza. Interesting take on a Chicago deep dish. Single crust, cheese on bottom, toppings, then sauce.

I had been hearing lots of hype about this place so, I decided to go and see what it was all about. I have very mixed feelings, so let me explain in my review.

I’m from Chicago and this is one of the best in the West. The crust is spot on, and the sausage tastes just like home. Prices are fair. Service is good enough. No table service. Limited drink selection. I’m going back for more!

If you love a delicious deep-dish pizza from Chicago but a little closer to home, this is the place to go! My husband was born and raised in Chicago, and his eyes roll back into his head whenever we go here!
