This little tiny plot of land may not mean a thing to you. But this is one of my fondest memories of growing up as a young child. See that nice window to the right? Well, that was once an opening in that wall where the most wonderful aromas and plumes of smoke would billow out at night. And that plot of grass? That was lined with rickety wooden picnic tables, stained by decades of grease, ketchup, mayo and lots of dried chewing gum underneath. Pop would stand in line while Mom and I would grab a table. Then Pop would bring over the tray of wax paper wrapped deliciousness known as a What-A-Burger. 70 years later, the food still tastes the same. Still wrapped in wax paper. I visted there today. I remembered a little bit of my childhood. The food was great. Life is good. You friends have a great weekend. Mine already is.

It doesn’t look like much on the outside or in the basket but let me tell you it has a whole lot of goodness on the inside. This is what the Five Guys and Fosters Grill is trying to achieve but they don’t come close. This is the real deal. The burgers are the best and the fries are great. It comes out pretty fast even when they are busy. There are plenty of seats on the inside with restrooms but you can also take it outside or just take it to go.

Good Christian establishment. The food was diabolically bussing. Been passing this place for years but finally stopped in. Worth it. Will be coming back to try the seafood.

Enjoyed lunch here. Had a good time with family. Came during the quiet time so there was plenty of seating and not a long wait. The food was delicious for sure. Only complaint I have is that my marinara sauce for my mozzarella sticks was ice cold and had a sour taste, but I’m still giving 5 stars because things happen.

Tried this place based on reviews, and it was really good. They do hand dip their own corn dogs so I thought that was different. Burgers were good and fries.

Excellent cheeseburger, fresh cooked to order, and fast enough considering how busy they were. The staff was very nice and friendly. As a bonus, the sweet tea was great! Not too sweet, and just strong enough. They have a long list of special add on, like peppers or BBQ sauce. Their prices are very reasonable, 2 meals, with drinks, for $20.

Been here more than once. Food is OK but this time around July 27, 2023 I ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the order of french fries And I picked it up about 3:55 right before they closed that eveniand when I got home to eat my sandwich, there was two pieces of long hair wrapped around the meat and cheese inside of my sandwich and I was Disgusted.

I definitely don’t understand the hype of this burger joint. My burger was just eh and I had everything on it minus tomato. Their peanut butter milk shake was good though! The service was good and staff was very friendly.

I’ve been living in and around Columbia for about 15 years, and I ate at What-a-Burger recently for the first time. I have to say, it did not disappoint! The burgers, in particular, rival anything I’ve had in or around the city. The condiments (lettuce, tomato) are fresh and not too wet, the bun pleasantly soft, and the patty immaculate. I also got a catfish basket which was quite good and very generously apportioned. Two burger baskets (burgers, fries and drinks) plus a catfish basket (catfish and fries, no drink) only cost about $23.

I tried the chicken cheese steak. It was okay, but not top-notch. The sandwich was warm, but a better quality bread would be a good way to improve the overall attitude I have about it. I did take note of the “A” rating on the store front.
