We really enjoyed the experience and dinner. We shared the jalapeno cheese poppers as an appetizer. They were crunchy on the outside and a wonderful mixture of creamy cheese and pepper. My wife had the American burger and I had the whiskey burger. We both had collards as a side and shared an order of fries. Both burgers were great. The whiskey burger has the whiskey sauce and was a bit sweet but the bacon was crumbed and magic. The collards were seasoned perfectly without excessive fat but still smokey flavored. The fries are like steakhouse fries. and lots of them. I highly recommend this place. I want to go back to try other items.

I really like the small town atmosphere and the food is great! Can’t go wrong with the burger and fries! Nice bar!

Had been waiting for the whiskey barrel to open up ever since we saw that a new restaurant was going to move into where the old laundromat/inn used to be. Once it finally opened, it has stayed packed. So my mom and I went tonight. Not a very big restaurant, and not a lot of seating, but we didn’t have to wait long to be seated. They have a small menu, but from what we ate tonight, is big on taste. I had the shrimp skewers with grilled asparagus and green beans, and my mom had shrimp skewers with grilled asparagus also, but with mashed potatoes and gravy. Even got an appetizer of the corn fritters. The shrimp was grilled to perfection and had a great bourbon sauce on them. The asparagus with grilled nicely and wasn’t tough. The green beans were fresh, and the mashed potatoes were homemade. As for the corn fritters, they were NOT what I was expecting. I’m used to how my grandmother used to cook them as just cornmeal and corn, but these were greatly different. I bit into one and I thought they weren’t cooked all the way. And then I realized that it was actually cheese in there. So much cheesy goodness.

Was great.. We got a double meat Cheese burger thinking the patties would be small like other restaurants. The patties were huge and very delicious!!

Our first time trying what I’ve already coined, “The Barrel”. We were immediately impressed when we walked in the door. Great bar area, floor layout and hometown county ambiance. We sat at the bar and had a wonderful meal a few beers (each) and plan on returning again multiple times in the future. This might be the very first review I’ve ever written and I’m glad I saved it for “The Barrel”!

After seeing a Facebook post about this place, I was excited to try the burgers here. My coworkers and I ordered takeout, and we were all a little disappointed. The jalapeno poppers were great, but our burgers were quite overcooked.

We came on a Saturday evening around 5:30 EST – we had our wonderful (yet challenging) 2 1/2 yo who insisted on singing and dancing on the karaoke stage. The staff was gracious and service was fast. Absolutely loved it, the Philly cheese steak was so good!!

Miss Jada and Miss BB always make us feel welcome. The Whiskey Barrel burger is always fantastic. I get the regular and my husband gets it spicy as a wrap. The fries are always extra crispy and the sauce is excellent. Beer and drinks are cold.

First off really good food and service but the point of me writing this review is because I witnessed something while there and I hope I’m wrong but I had payed for my food and was getting ready to leave and left a tip on the table for our waitress Danielle(really good service btw) but as I was going to leave and these two I’m guessing to be busboys (really young kids) were grabbing the cups and plates and one of them ran up and snatched the tip and put it in his pocket. I’m not bashing but I’m sure he had no means to hand it to the waitress who earned it and he will probably keep for himself now it looks like she never got tipped at all and I had a pretty big bill with a decent size tip I’m hoping to put this out there so others are aware of what they are doing

When I pay $15.00 for a hamburger, I don’t want a frozen patty. Also, is the bun toasted or stale? Both perhaps. The menu says “7oz grilled chuck sirloin”, but what you get is a burnt Bubba Burger.
