Nice setting. Limited menu, but the smoked trout dip was very tasty. We also had the Beef stew and our 6 year old daughter loves it.

I rate this 5 stars because 4 just is too basic. Being from California this was a great place to find. Cozy, friendly, and great food. I got the Sheppard’s pie and did not regret it one bit. The sauce in it was rich, the beef was full of flavor and tender, and the vegetables we’re cooked just right. I wanted to eat the entire bowl but my stomach could only handle 1/3! My only gripe would have been that the beer on tap was a little warm and so was the glass. But it’s been a pleasure to find a place that liked around the area that brought my heart warmth.

I am only giving two stars because of the nice bourbon/whiskey selection. I found the food to be wholly uninspiring for the prices that are charged. I ordered a “prime ribeye” that was very thin and extremely overcooked. It was bland with no seasoning and the waiter seemed offended that I asked for steak sauce (which I have not done since I was a kid). In my opinion for $30+ steak, it had better be better than what this restaurant is serving.

Waiter was not attentive. Almost no one in the restaurant at the time we were there. Not there for the alcohol but rather dinner (first timers). We both ordered pork chop (waiter said it was his favorite). Chops were very, very dry. Brussels sprouts were almost blackened. My wife’s side of mashed potatoes was the only “good” item in the entire order. Good atmosphere but the food and service lacked significantly. We are foodies! We were both very hungry. I did not finish my meal and that does not happen under normal circumstances.

Great whiskey selection and priced pretty well. Didn’t try the food other than the charcuterie, which really just looked like mostly grocery stores items displayed fancifully. There’s room for improvement there, but don’t let that keep you away from the place. We had a great time and I’m glad State Street has another option for visitors!

Yes it’s a bit pretencious and over priced. But, they serve one hell of a stiff drink and the menu is a thoughtful journey into charcuterie. Great for a fancy date night if you are willing to spend about $50 a person. Overall a good dining experience that is unlike other restaurants on State Street.

One of the most incredible bars in Appalachia. Immaculately clean and the staff are top notch – especially the tenders. Delicious food that is often inspired by fresh local ingredients – NOT “bar food” but I promise you will not leave hungry… most of their dishes are stick-to-your-ribs delicacies.

Amazing food, the blackened shrimp was out of this world, also had the pork chili very good as well, the beans weren’t cooked all the way though. But our bartender was very knowlageable and helpfully, the stag was great, and the whisky selection is ridiculous, I believe some one said they have over 150 different whiskeys available.

Brilliant menu that is updated on a regular basis. Our first time eating here and the staff was very helpful with recommending dishes. The caramelized shallot mash was a great pairing with my ribeye that was cooked just the way I ordered it.

Great selection of Whiskey. Outside of that, the experience was just okay. The menu was outdated with items no longer offered still on the menu. They were also out of several items that were available. The food was fair but overpriced. Overall a mediocre place that could be great with a few small updates. Not worth the price in it’s current state.
