I had a hamburger with grilled onions, which I love. Very few restaurants have grilled onions so I love it when I can order them. An appetizer of chips, salsa and cheese dip was ordered. Unfortunately, the salsa tasted and smelled wrong. The waitress was nice and receptive to the problem. She said she’d let the kitchen know. She replaced the salsa. Later on she stopped by to say the kitchen appreciated us letting them know as they agreed it didn’t taste right. That was refreshing to hear. Kudos to the chef!

I’ve lived in Conyers almost 40 years, so I’ve been here since this place opened and have never stopped in until this past weekend. I was very pleased with the food. My daughter said her burger was the best she’s ever had. My fish fingers were cooked perfectly. My wife liked her lobster cake sandwich very much. We will definitely be back soon.

So I’ll be honest. I’ve been weary of a majority of the establishments in this town due to my past experiences, but I’ll tell you what, EVERY time I grab a table here, I leave SATISFIED. I’ve never had the same menu item twice, and it’s been stellar, always. However, this last visit, we were accompanied by a passing train, which made the experience even better., and I now know of fantastic tradition.

On Saturday we attended the book festival in Old Town Conyers. They had limited food choices for the time we were there and I needed to eat, so we decided to try the Whistle Post for the first time. I wish I had read the reviews first. We ordered 10 piece lemon pepper wings only for $22.06 total. What was even more shocking was the complete lack of flavor. Zero seasoning, straight chicken from the bag into the fryer onto my plate chicken. They looked pretty. They had what looked like pepper sprinkled lightly on about three pieces but those tasted like nothing. I’ve never experienced anything like it from an established restaurant.

This is a very cool spot. My BF & I visited fir an anniversary event. The server staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a single patty cheddar cheese burger w/O LTO & Bun w/a side of BBQ and fries – it was very tasty. My BF had lemon peper hot wings w/a side of fries – AS USUAL! We also had a few . We had a very nice time!
