Got there right at 12:00 barely an hour after they opened, they were out of fried green tomatoes, and fried pickles. The server acted put out when taking our drinks, but she ended up being alot better, and provided decent service. The food was good, above average I’d say, and the ribs were amazing. Dissapointed we couldn’t have the “world famous” fried green tomatoes, or the burger options that had them on the burger. That’s actually the main reason we drove almost an hour out of our way to eat there….

It was a very nice treat. I stopped in for a quick lunch and saw the sign for fried green tomatoes. They were amazing. I tried a little bit of everything they had on the menu. I honestly have to say I am very very funny about my food. Everything was completely seasoned to perfection. I will be going back soon and reviewing everything in depth. The service and prices were great. I would recommend.

Limited parking but food and service were good. We had the fried fish and it was a generous portion for a lunch special and came with 2 sides. Everything was seasoned very well and not just dumped from a can. Wait staff were attentive and very personable. The place looked to be very vintage which we have found these establishments usually have the best food and we were not disappointed. If you want just a simple country diner atmosphere but easy on the budget, tired of fast food and a quality meal this place won’t disappoint

We are traveling and found this place on Google maps . My husband had the ribs and he said they were wonderful. I had the catfish. It was also wonderful. At door there is a little bit of a smell but once inside it was a great little local place.

The staff was so friendly and I was surprised when I ordered roast beef with gravy was actually roast beef that they had cooked all day. The food was delicious

My wife and I visited there tonight after driving in from Louisiana. Just a little get-away while granddaughter has a sleepover at home. One inducement to get my wife to agree to come to Wiggins was we would eat at the Whistle Stop Cafe and she could get one of her all time favorite dishes, Fried Green Tomatoes. We arrive as they re-open and are seated immediately. They take our drink order and return with them to also get our food order. But wait, the server needs to go back into the kitchen to get to get the list of what they are “out of”. Sure enough, no fried green tomatoes, amoung other things. There goes the highlight of the trip for my wife. We do order and most of what we got was good. I was a little disappointed in the hamburger as was over cooked and had little flavor. As we ate, we noticed they were putting the chairs on the tables and turning away customers. Seems they decided to close because had/were running out of supplies. It’s possible they serve good food when they have the proper inventory. They opened at 4:00, just to close at 4:10. Hush puppies, fish and coleslaw were great.

We came here after my uncle’s memorial. This was the last place I had enjoyed a meal with him before he passed!
