Cozy location. Haven’t been in a while. Used to go there in my youth. Dined in. The hush puppies were warm, soft and airy. I got the combination plate dark with the Brunswick stew and slaw. My friend got the fried chicken white with boiled potatoes and potato salad. The chicken was juicy and not greasy with crispyskin. The bbq was tender. The potato salad was creamy. The slaw was so good that I got a pint to go. The Brunswick stew was delicious and components were fresh with a broth where you can identify what was in it. Th3 boiled potatoes were tender and a good size. The experience gave me a renewed warm feeling like I enjoyed in my youth.

As soon as you sit down, they greet you with a smile and a basket of fresh, hot hush puppies (with honeybutter already on the table). Our food was served seconds after we ordered, including fried chicken that tasted like it came right out of the fryer! Everything was good, with the brunswick stew being our favorite. Whole hog bbq is few and far between, with that and their hospitality, White Swan’s is a must stop….if not a destination unto itself. Thank ya’ll for a meal to remember!

So they deleted my original review. What an absolutely disgusting place. My husband and I always stop at the breakfast place on our way heading north but we were returning south and decided to give it a try. So the big grill put back that they were cooking chicken on had birds all around diving in to pick at the chicken. We ordered hush puppies that were so grease filled, Mac and cheese that was bland and 2 chicken sandwiches and they still had the bone in! WHY!!?? It was awful, at least if the chicken was flavorful but why bother we had to salt everything. Which I never use salt. The staff were so unwelcoming and just rude. The bathroom omgosh there are 2 stalls and no door, so when you open the main store customers can see you! If I could give this place a negative rating I would. If anyone rates this place more than a 1 star get out of your local town and experience actual food. I love southern good home cooking not this! So disappointed, terrible terrible terrible!

Hole in the wall with delicious fried chicken and amazing hush puppies! This is not for someone trying to eat healthy. Chicken was juicy and crisp. The BBQ pork was tasty. Their sides were decent, but not as good as the meat. Great value and there is a discount for cash. We left stuffed from lunch. Service was fast and it’s in a convenient location from the highway. Definitely recommend.

Nothing less than a 5. This is really close to being the best BBQ in NC. I’m not going to say the best but very close. There was a little confusion honestly of where to park and enter since it was our first time. Once we figured it out, wow. The service was great, and our server visited often. She made sure we had what we needed. This is the only restaurant I’ve visited BBQ wise that puts a whole bottle of plain vinegar on the table. Thank goodness!!!!!!!! This was a welcome change and another reason for 5 stars. Fried chicken was a little chewy, but the flavor was great. The only thing missing here honestly was Collards. But I cannot complain. I love the pictures on the wall! They compliment this location well!!!!

If you’re a yankee passing thru and you’re looking for the Carolina bbq experience, this is the place. Excellent bbq pork and chicken. The slaw and hush puppies are also delicious. I had an order of hush puppies in front of me within 30 seconds of sitting down. My bbq was on the table less than 60 seconds after i ordered it. And the waitstaff was running to my table to make sure my water stayed full throughout my dining experience. Make sure you stop here.

Great food, super friendly place. I walked in with my daughter to use the bathroom before sitting down. It was crowded and before I got 2 steps into dining room, a regular patron offered us to share his table since there was nowhere else to sit. We took him up on the offer and enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Heard about this place through the grapevine. I’m sure glad we did! It’s been around for 90+ years and was full of local regulars. The food was AWESOME. Some of the best BBQ since we moved here. Service was great, atmosphere was great, although it isn’t a fancy place. Seating is limited and prices are good. I did not leave hungry…

Tuesday and Friday nights are the best. Their Chicken Casserole and Collards are outstanding! Friday Nights, Flounder and Shrimp is Amazing! As far as Service, these waitresses work hard. There’s only one that never smiles and is not very friendly ( but everyone has just one. Right).
