We wanted to eat on the ped mall before we went to Filmscene for Barbie and Wilder fit the bill.

Brunch, even towards the end at 3pm was fresh and very good. We had the frittatas, chicken and biscuit, salad wedge, and avocado toast. Great portions, great quality, exceeded expectations, will definitely be back!

Most disappointing restaurant experience ever. Bar and wait service is slow and incompetent. Cocktails are bad, wine served well past shelf life. 1 entree served 15 min before remaining 4. Served a pork tenderloin that appeared cooked on the outside but the inside was completely raw. Tenderloin was sent back and corrected but the server did not seem concerned that we were served raw pork nor was it discounted in any way on our bill. Took multiple tries to receive napkins and silverware.

Love the ambiance and opening to outside. And the fellow at the bar was pleasantly calm, kind, gracious, and he had good social skills and eye contact (a VERY rare find compared to numerous other restaurants in the area). However, the food was just too darn salty. The broccolini was just barely not too salty, onion straws were too salty, kale caesar salad was too salty but would have been okay if it wasn’t over-dressed, and the crispy pork sandwich is a tad too salty. Don’t think we’ll be back unless we really want funnel cake. Thanks anyway and best of luck.

This is a good restaurant in the Graduate Hotel with great fries and ping pong!

Fries alone are worth the trip. Simple menu, simple beer selection, but the food, fries, location, atmosphere and service means we’ll be back. Coming from a townie, that’s high praise!

I met a good friend for drinks before they had to go to work. We both enjoyed fantastic preparations of a traditional Negroni, it was a little sweet, quite bitter, a smidge spicy and rightly strong. In summary, the perfect drink for the occasion, done excellently. Our bartender Adelaide (I hope I spelled it right) was fantastic. Highly recommended

Excellent classic cocktails, in a quaint setting.,The wood paneling and macrome lamp shades add a period decor that is cozy and welcoming. This is a “grown up” bar in a downtown full of loud crowded “meat market” type bars. I also had the sweet and spicy wings, which were great. I would definatley go back to try more menu items.

Good drinks and friendly bartenders! The place is named for Gene Wilder who graduated from the nearby Iowa University so many of the menu items are themed from his movies.

Hit or miss. You can have a great bartender one night. The next you’ll have a bartender that won’t acknowledge you are there even though you are the only person at the bar. I never got a chance to try the food for that fact.
