I wanted some Potato Greens and I did a Google search and Wologisi Restaurant came up. Let me say the food was absolutely wonderful! Sunny did not disappoint! The Potato Greens came with Beef and/or Chicken. I also got the Fish (bone in) with Plantains. O.M.G!!! If you are looking for authentic Liberian Cuisine, I recommend Wologisi. Not only was the food delicious, the owner and chef, Sunny was so kind and sweet and she provided the best customer service that I have received in a very long time. I will be returning frequently. Thank you!

Walked into the restaurant at 8:42 pm and the young lady pointed to the clock and told us “we’re closed”!! How can businesses be supported and service like this is available! The bad part is this wasn’t my first time eating there! My first experience was the complete opposite, I asked the owner (Ms. Sonni) if I could taste a couple of dishes and she told me to take a seat, gave me a bowl and towel to wash my hands, and she came out and ate with me! Didn’t charge me anything and I told her I’ll be back! Well, after the service (or lack there of) that is now up in the air…

They serve an excellent gyros….better than most in Louisville. The lamb/beef was served hot and seared. Another refreshing thing about this gyros is that it is not an oversized portion. The fries we’re also hot and crispy. The service is prompt and friendly and the place is clean. (the picture doesn’t do this gyros justice. Most of the tzatziki, lettuce and tomatoes are under the gyros meat)

If you dig home style (and ethnic) cooking, skip the gyros and falafel and go straight to the African entrees. Just outstanding stuff… we had the chicken stew and another dish with beef in potato greens over rice. Both were delicious. The owner/chef will guide you.

Food was delicious, Really enjoyed jollof rice and Cassava lead. Definitely would recommend experimenting with the food. Variety of different taste.

I ordered off of the website for delivery, and i wish I could have a better review for them; but most of the food was inedible. The hummus was grainy and bland, the pita was rock hard the moment it arrived (to me this says “heated in a microwave”). I ordered a beef schwarma and received chicken instead, I thought I could be ok with this- but I was wrong, the chicken was bland and there was something SO BITTER in the seasoning or vegetables, that I just left most of it. But the falafel was unforgivable. Burnt black bitter husks… I don’t know how falafel can be ruined this badly. . . And I tried to eat just the insides that weren’t burned… no dice- wierd bitter flavor throughout. I see all these great reviews on their African food, but the Mediterranean should just be taken off of the menu because it is done so poorly. A total waste of ingredients and money.

I ordered the palm oil smoked turkey. I dont know much about the palm part as I’m not familiar with it but the smoked turkey was the best I’ve ever had. Whoever made the smoked turkey knows their way around a smoker!

Located in the old Al Watan restaurant space, Wologisi is a gem of a find. Sure, you can get gyro’s and French fries, but why? At the counter are steaming trays full of West African specialties. Lamb, goat, chicken and fish are on offer with your choice of rice. We’re had the goat, chicken, and greens with fish. The dishes have been without exception deeply flavorful, accessible, and satisfying. Don’t miss the freshly fried plantains, hot from the grill and slightly caramelized. They folks DESERVE your business!

Ordered from DoorDash, arrived sooner than expected. Cheesesteak was great, gyro was great, jollof rice was good, but not what I was used to. There’s significant differences in jollof from different regions though, so no foul there. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food, would like to try the babaganoush next time.
