Ordered the kung pao chicken without the peanuts. There was not much chicken which was disappointing bc when we looked this dish up online, they all showed lots of chicken. The picture you see chicken and that’s basically all there was. Heavy on the veggies. The majority of this dish is supposed to be chicken! The food was alright, flavor ok. Shared this meal with my husband and took it to go. If you share in the restaurant, they charge an extra dollar. Their card machine wasn’t working so it was cash only. There are no trash cans, napkins out on tables or a place to fill a drink yourself. Bathrooms are located outside. They were unlocked and fairly clean when we used them.

In terms of Chinese restaurants in small towns in the desolate Nevada desert I would give this restaurant 5 stars. However, as a Chinese restaurant overall I would give it between 3.5-4 stars. The lunch specials were very cheap and generous (under $6 for Chicken Chow Mein with an egg roll) and I was able to split a lunch special between two people and we were both adequately full. The speed of service was average and the server was very friendly. If for some reason find yourself in Hawthorne, NV and craving Chinese cuisine, I would say this place is worth a try. You won’t be blown away but I am sure you will find your experience at least satisfactory if not much better than expected.

When we first walked in I wasn’t sure we should of came here. It was pretty warm inside the restaurant but it’s definitely hotter outside so no real big deal and the young lady who greeted us seemed rushed. I wanted dumplings but they were out so I got the crab rangoons which were pretty tasty. Twice cooked pork was also good and the portions were good sized. Also ordered the House Special chow mein and Peppered beef, both with fried rice. When it came time to pay I mentioned to Monica with a C, that I had no cash, Monica mentioned from the beginning that they only accepted cash and I said that’s fine, She wasn’t happy with that and said she can keep my friend hostage while I go get some cash which we thought was pretty funny. I said I was just kidding and we got a good laugh out her. Overall it was good food with good, friendly service. I’ll be back. Add on.. I love dumplings. I placed an order and picked them up today. WOW! Cooked perfectly!. In a pan to a nice crispy texture not just boiled or baked, blah. When I walked in Monica was there and I mentioned I wanted to try one right away. YUM! Back to my place and I destroyed them.I wanted to save some for tomorrow but I finished the two orders. Delicious. Add on… I can’t wait to get back here.

If you are passing by this town on your trip and you are hungry, you must eat here! I have been eating Chinese food all over LA and this was one of the best, if not the best, Chinese food I have tried. The restaurant is not the fanciest, but the food is just outstanding and the people are very hospitable. The food was not greasy and was not drenched in souse to cover up bad quality food. Afterwards we did not get thirsty, which is common with Chinese food, so probably they did not use tons of salt and MSG.

If you’re in the mood for Chinese dining, it fits the bill. Particularly, since it is quite reasonable. The owner is the sweetest women, and the place is very clean. They could benefit in providing a bit more protein and cooking their vegetables a bit less. They accept cash only.

I do a lot of travel and have stayed over night a few times in Hawthorne so I’ve eaten here several times the food is really good and they serve good size lrg. protons, the employees are nice. The building doesn’t look like much but it is clean inside. I’ll be back again.

The inside is a small nice clean place. Restrooms are also clean and kept up nice. The food on the other hand is very basic. Too basic to be charging $7.50 a plate for. We ordered chicken lo mein, it was just some vegetables and chicken put in a bowl with ramen noodles. There was no seasoning whatsoever. Portions were just a small styrofoam plates worth. Not big at all. Overall prices where more than the food and portions were worth. We ordered Wor wonton soup and were given egg flower soup. Definitely not going back.

Lovely little mom and pop restuarant. The food was very good, and the restaurant was clean and cool. Service was excellent! We will definitely stop here again if we travel this way!

Besides being the only Chinese restaurant in town, this place is very good. This is a family-run restaurant and the food is home-cooked style. The service staff try to make sure that you always leave happy and satisfied. I recommend this place!
