Such a cute restaurant and always good food! The area is nice to walk around if there’s a wait. I’ve gone for breakfast and lunch and both were good! The prices are reasonable and you can tell the food is fresh. They have gluten free bread which makes it even better!

Breakfast was delicious! Great biscuits, great pancakes, and awesome service! Very accommodating of our need to bring our pup with us to sit outside. They brought him a little bowl of water, and cut up some chicken for him! He enjoyed it as well!

We love staying in Surfside and this is the breakfast spot to hit. Food is always hot and fresh, good coffee and super friendly staff. I ordered the Salmon Benedict, highly recommend!! My kids even finished their plates including my youngest who can be picky. He ordered the Waffle with fruit and chocolate on top! Very clean.

Service was phenomenal. Prices are reasonable. We are from out of town visiting Surfside Beach. I got a BLT and potato salad and it tasted like my mom cooked it. Also ordered in my party, chicken and honey biscuit, eggs Benedict, waffle and a salad. Everything was fantastic. Such a lovely lunch.

We wanted to like this place being as we are locals. Unfortunately today must have been an off day. Like many places they are short staffed. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to come take our drink/food order. Fine that happens. It then took about 35 minutes to get a Western omelet and a Gyro. Again things happen but the food was mediocre at best when we finally got it. My omelet was barely warm and just not good. On the plus side the grits were hot. The gyro was room temperature and just not good as well. On the plus side the fries were hot. To her credit the waitress did keep checking on us and letting us know food should be out “soon”. That’s why 3 stars vice 2.

The Wooden Spoon is a nice and quaint vacation spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We’ve tried a lot of the breakfast joints in Surfside and this one is a nice place that’s a little less known and easy to get into. We also enjoy The Golden Egg [up the road], but it’s always packed. The food, service and atmosphere at The Wooden Spoon were great! This is definitely a #lovelocal destination. Give a shot!

Words don’t even describe how amazing this charming find we made when visiting Surfside for CCMF. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express down the way and this ended up being our breakfast spot everyday- except our last day on Monday, as they are closed (we were so sad). Exceptional food and service. Shrimp and grits were AMAZING- country fried steak was delightful- can’t go wrong with anything you choose. Waitresses and staff were so inviting and friendly. Cannot wait to go back! Renting a golf cart was a great choice- parking outside was always easy and golf carts allowed.

Fantastic little restaurant with down home cooking and super polite wait staff. They are only open until 2pm and we arrived at approximately 130pm and they happily invited us in and did not rush us to finish our meals like a lot of places tend to do. Highly recommend.

Very wide variety on the menu. Everything I saw looked great. The prices for breakfast are good. The food here is just amazing. They really know how to cook right. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating. It is very roomy and visually pleasing so you don’t feel cramped. Recommend this restaurant for wanting a sit down breakfast.

Not very professional waitstaff. We were pointed to our table and told to sit down. Waitress was in a hurry to take our drink order and then took 15 minutes to bring them to us. It’s fine, I understand it can be busy in there. But my grandmother could not get the words out that she wanted decaf coffee before the waitress took off. The food was ok we all got omelets but we ordered biscuits and we received English muffins. The waitresss never came back so we could tell her we wanted a biscuit until our meal was over and it was time for the check. We waited 40 minutes after eating for our check. After 40 minutes I went up to the front counter and kindly asked if we pay up front or at our table. The other waitress said “you’re going to have to give me a minute I’m doing something” very rudely. I understand it can be busy but It takes just one minute to be kind. We came down here for our family vacation after receiving bad news and I will never forget how that waitress spoke to me. We finally got to pay and left. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant. And to the waitress with the dirty blonde curly bun in her hair, I pray you will be nice to other customers in this restaurant and not be rude to paying customers and not treat them like they are dirt on the floor. I have never felt so degraded in a restaurant or talked to like a child by waitstaff
