With only a few places to choose from in town, two friends and I stopped in for a quick drink before a Riverpig’s baseball game. What a gem of a place. With Mindy behind an incredibly stocked bar, we had an enormous selection. Good conversation, atmosphere, and a bathroom – of course! Excellent space to quench one’s thirst. Make a point of checking them out. *Side note: They’ve been doing business since 1898! Now that’s staying power – Cheers

Woodsman tavern and grill hands down the best dive bar in Tupper Lake. Open late, serves food until closing and a great atmosphere for anyone looking for a good night out.

Ordered a BBQ chicken pizza on the way back from near the Canadian border because it was the only place open on the way back to beat Lake George. Was blown away by the quality of the pizza. Has become a regular stop on the route home. Nice place. Always busy. And one of 2 of the best BBQ chicken pizzas in the Adirondacks. Love this place.

Was in the area, saw the 4.6 star review and decided to check the place out. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my partner ordered chicken tenders. The burger was ordered medium and came out well done and the bacon was burnt. The tenders were frozen tenders from a grocery store and thrown in a deep fryer. The French fries appeared and tasted exactly like that of McDonald’s French fries. Plus, for a simple order, it took over an hour to receive the food. The server was very busy, but very pleasant. She stated she was the bartender, cook, and server. They need some help and some real food. The rating is deceiving, I would not recommend this restaurant.

I can honestly say the food is amazing! The beer selection is perfect and the “hometown” feeling is where you want to be. The place makes you feel like you are home and the music is amaizng as well as can I say again the FOOD!! Classic bar food when a twist. Basically if your in town there is a lot to do and this is a landmark I would sure say. The hotel upstairs is so rustic and Adirondack that you feel like staying a week. It’s awesome!! If you are in town please stop in and say “hey Jesse!!” He owns the place and has amaizng stories to match. You can’t find places like this anymore. So stop in and enjoy!

Great food and very hometown setting. The place has also been completely renovated so it is a very clean but rustic setting. Someone the building is actually the original building as well so some great history there. Had the pleasure to have been able to lend my time and hands to restoring a wonderful place.

We’re in the Adirondacks for a fishing trip. This was at least the second time we’ve been to this establishment now. Everyone is friendly and accepting of visitors. You definitely won’t get the awkward stare from many townie bars in the mountains. The owner was on hand both times and even offered us reasonable rates on an overnight stay in his future on site hotel. Thank you for a great night Woodsmens!

I lived in Tupper Lake from Feb. 2001 until about June of 2002. A co-worker of mine from Fay’s Drugs bartended there part-time on Friday, and Saturday nights. I spent a memorable evening there with her, drinking Margarita Rocks like a vaquero, a one woman wrecking crew and killing an entire bottle of Don Julio Blanco. I was feeling no pain nor the bitter cold of mid. January in the heart of the Adirondacks. She and I were the only females in the bar but tbh the guys that were there were decidedly well behaved.
