Hiking With Hendrix
Great food, prepared to requests. Drinks mixed well. Staff sweet and attentive. Very clean and nice establishment. Could have done without the continually barking dogs that apparently belong to one of the workers. I heard several tables complain. The dogs are the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars.

WOW! This was EXACTLY what we needed after a long day of hikes! Was really surprised at how good this was in this little town. Had a GREAT chicken fried steak and a wonderful slice of coconut cream pie. Topped it all off with a bunch of 4oz pours of craft beers on tap. Tried them all and they were all good. Service was super friendly. Music playing in the background was perfect. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in many years. Starting off the night, we were seated by Tiana who not only seated us but had a pleasant conversation that did not seem rushed or prepared at all. She made us feel like family which is what I really look for in a restaurant staff and Tiana checked that box. Next was Hayley. She was an absolute sweetheart and again made us feel right at home. She was very attentive to our drinks and food. She even personally helped me pick out what I should have for desert. That leads me into the food which was phenomenal! I started with the self serve salad bar which can be sketchy at times but this was as fresh as it could be. Moving onto the main course, I had the rib-eye with a loaded potato and corn. The whole plate was delicious. Even the corn which can come pretty cold sometimes was amazing. I also had a piece of fresh black forest cake. Hayley was even gracious enough to put wip cream on it. It was so rich I had no problem eating the whole thing in a matter of minutes. I would give this place 10 stars if I could. If you are even driving though this city, make the stop and eat here. You will not regret it.

I love this place. I think I had the owner waiting on me and she was so kind. They do allow dining inside and have taken steps to keep things clean. The menu is much smaller than normal, but that’s understandable! I had the ribs and they were melt in your mouth tender. Great bbq sauce. The fries had some kind of seasoning on them which made them taste like potato oles from taco John’s and that’s a compliment.

The place is situated in a very beautiful setting and is a very busy dinner destination. It was worth the wait, however and my family and I loved it. I tried a beer flight and really enjoyed the Jeremiah mountain man ale over the others. The salad bar was excellent and the wings were very large. Overall a good value even though it will run you a lot more than a chain restaurant or fast food. Get there early!

My son went with the buffalo burger and I had the buffalo steak. As you can clearly see from the pics I enjoyed my meal. The only thing that could have made it better is for them to offer sour cream with the potato. Road trip across country from Atlantic to Pacific is a trip to remember and I will definitely remember this place as a great taste of South Dakota!

Wanted to give them 4 stars .. baby back ribs looked like spare ribs to me (but the server warned me) and the chicken breast was overcooked (but the excellent sauce kept it from being too dry). But the food was very good and the “sides bar” was over the top, so they get a rare 5 from me.

This is easily the best restaurant in the Black Hills! From delicious food, to fantastic service, AND one of the cleanest restaurants I’ve seen. They’re running the perfect business! The Western Burger was super delicious, and the Cheesecake…. So good!! Thanks for a great service, we can’t wait to return on our next trip!
