Peanuts & Seamoss
Housemade Roasted Peanuts + Sea Moss. These were my grandmother’s favorite snack and she passed it down to Mama Fong. The sea moss is really difficult to source, but luckily Mama Fong found a dealer in San Gabriel Valley who sells them in vacuum sealed packs. We separate and dry the sea moss, then roast them with the peanuts and we top it off with a Japanese konbu sea salt for extra umami. We used to serve these with any beer order in our dining room. Net wt. 5.5 oz (156g)
$7.00
Mama’s Way Sauce
Have it “Mama’s Way”, how we’ve been eating our noodles since Mama Fong taught us in ’87. We combine Chili Garlic Sauce + white vinegar. Now we’ve done the work for you and emulsified and bottled into one sauce for you to enjoy on anything and everything.
$7.00
Wok Legend’s Seasoning Salt
You know that seasoning that goes on our Wok Legend’s Spicy Potato Chips? This is that, but it can really be used for anything. Sometimes we just sprinkle it over white rice and call it a meal. It’s also really good on chips, popcorn, noodles, avo toast, you name it.
$6.00
Stir Fry Sauce
This is the sauce we use to stir fry with our Beef Noodles. Contains oyster, soybeans, and wheat.
$8.00
Veggie Stir Fry Sauce
This is the same sauce we use in our Veggie (Vegan) noodles! Contains soybeans, wheat, and mushrooms.
$8.00
White Rice
Premium long grain Buddha brand Jasmine rice.
$6.00
Black Rice
A little goes a long way with black rice which makes it so pricey. We like to cook a little bit and mix it with our white rice like we do with our Fried Rice.
$6.00
Dried Shiitake Mushrooms
These are a must have in your pantry for any recipe. Just hydrate them in hot water until they are soaked through and then use them as you would fresh shiitakes, except these will add much more umami to any dish! Mama Fong actually used to use these in her original Beef Noodles recipe before switching to fresh shiitake mushrooms.
$5.00

Since you can’t dine in at your favorite Chinese restaurant, why not bring home some melamine chopsticks from your favorite Chinese restaurant ? Available in sets of two in red, green or black.

We ordered delivery & were surprised by the smaller portions. The food was very good though. If you like charred style this is the place!!! The fish cakes were a little tough & overcooked, but everything else was delicious. Be prepared for a much smaller portion than you’d expect but a very enjoyable meal.

The pork belly baos are a must! So flavorful and juicy. The buns were like perfect pillows and the pickled mustard and veggies are so crunchy and tart. You’ll want both for yourself. The five spice wings were crispy and moist. The beef noodle is what you’d expect and the cucumber and tofu salad was just okay. The pineapple cocktail is light and refreshing but the pomegranate cocktail tastes like fruit punch medicine but not quite. Stick to the pineapple for a drink and you can’t go wrong.

So so good. Flavor, texture, ambience…this food feels NOURISHING in the way that takeout never is. I ordered veggie noodles and partner had pork belly over rice. Literally no complaints. Noodles are godly to say the least. Stoked to take everyone I know here.

Love a place that has a simple menu but does it all right. Everything was delightful and not too pretentious. Beef noodles were bomb with the hot sauce on the side. Decent indoor seating, lots of outdoor seats. All the people who work here were super chill and honestly look too cool you’ll have to park in the neighborhood most likely but I didn’t have any problems finding a spot.

So grateful to have found this place!! Having moved from Monterey Park (ie, The 626; San Gabriel Valley) to Highland Park, I very much felt distanced from my usual plethora of yummy authentic Chinese food. Particularly Cantonese Chinese. Lo and behold, Woon has become a new home for my Canto fix. First and foremost, the food is so fresh and expertly cooked. For example, the fried rice and noodles have that perfect wok-fired smokiness and umami. Second, I love the seating space!! It reminds me of some backstreet Chinese eateries in the Philippines where I grew up. Third, the backstory to this place is amazing. A true mom-and-son place. If you’re in LA and looking for Chinese (southern Chinese), then look no more.

Great dining experience. Cool interior, and good food. Smaller space so might have to wait a little if you want to sit inside at a popular dining time. Chicken wings and pork belly bao were standouts.

Oh. My. Goodness. This place is next level. I don’t usually eat pork, but had a random craving for bao and the Pork Belly Bao was actual perfection. Mouth-watering flavor and depth packed into a perfectly fluffy bao bun. The Veggie Noodles were delicious, and the vegan mango sticky rice ice cream was incredible—took me right back to the street food shops at the Thai night markets. The restaurant also paid attention to the small touches, even labeling our boxes with pre-printed stickers showing the name of the item inside. 100% recommend on all fronts!
