The atmosphere was very nice. The food was delicious except for the Philly cheesesteak. It needed more of everything and less meat. The homemade strawberry butter was ABSOLUTELY DIVINE!!! Definitely worth the drive to Oakland.

Stopped for lunch on Sunday. Nice day, so we sat at a picnic table on the front porch. Service was excellent. We shared the coconut shrimp and a Cobb salad. Plenty for two people. Shrimp were okay…not great. Salad was very good and large. Plenty of parking and nice decor. Hostess alerted that they only take cash. Seems odd and must cost them a lot of business. Will go back, only if I have enough cash on me.

We took our grandson for his birthday last weekend and went back this weekend with our granddaughter. We all enjoyed the food and will return again. Ask for Jason, he’s new but a very good waiter.

The food was pretty good. The steak must have been cooked on a charcoal grill because it had a smoky flavor. It threw me off but was pretty good. The salmon was very buttery and my wife really enjoyed it. The best part about the experience was the dinner rolls with strawberry butter!

I would gave 5 stars but the hostess forgot to say that the restaurant was cash only good thing they have a ATM inside, I had the gunslinger (12oz new york strip) with a fully loaded baked potato, that was a wonderful steak had a nice open fire taste with a hint of char and smoke would have been a disgrace to the chef to add A1 or 57 to the steak, the potatoe was great had a little smokey flavor to it, I was a little disappointed tho they didn’t offer corn on the cob on the menu, they had a few nice touches to the place open flame lanterns out front and had a neat bathroom sink

The detail that has gone into the founding of this restaurant should definitely be on your list to stop if you’re in the Memphis area. Great steaks and perfect cuts every time. I have never been disappointed in a steak from this restaurant. Not only do they have great steak, their catfish is amazing — fresh and taste great baked and fried.

Ok you redeemed yourself from my last visit. I’m always willing to give a restaurant a 2nd chance. My sirloin steak was cooked as I ordered it. I would suggest don’t pre-season all your steaks. Not a lot of people can have the seasoning you choose to put on there. Food was still overpriced but Overall good experience this time.

I would rate this place a one but I don’t want to be that cruel. the food was not so great… average… At well over average price… The place was empty. Add butter on the steak you never put butter on a steak… any thicker steaks and I need to grill them properly I don’t know how they cook these steaks but I wanted medium rare came out medium well and it tasted simply like Ponderosa Steakhouse

Rustic setting, adequate service. The food flavor was tasty and no complaints there, but the 8oz ribeye rather than being a smaller size thick cut was large but very thin. I ordered medium and due to the thinness it was nearly well done. They also have a fee for credit/debit card use. Not a flat fee, but a percentage fee. A lot of potential, but I doubt I will go there again.
