Very good sushi. Seating is limited, be prepared to wait 15-20 minutes on a Saturday evening. Service is quick. Rolls are prepared by hand to order. Hot sake and other alcoholic Japanese beverages are available for purchase as well. A less expensive alternative to Tsunami or Joss. I highly recommend Yama Sushi Bar.

We really wanted to like this place. In town to visit my daughter and we wanted sushi. Read the reviews and decided this was the spot. Sat at the bar and waited. The chefs never acknowledged our existence and never said one word to us the entire time. Nothing. I’ve been to MANY sushi bars from Kyoto to Los Angeles to Annapolis. This has NEVER happened before. The server acted like we were bothering her. We were told their fryer was down so, that was unfortunate. Now for the sashimi and sushi. The fish was good. Straight forward and simple. The sushi rice was sadly, average. The service was not very good. In fact, we will probably not return. Oh well. To each their own. They appear to be busy. Good for them.

Contrary to its unassuming location and appearance, the Sushi here is some of the best I’ve found in all of Maryland so far. The selection is vast and fresh. The presentation of the food was also impressive from the appetizer to the complimentary cheesecake bite dessert. The hosts and waiters were also welcoming and kind. Definitely will be my new go to sushi spot.
