The sushi is amazing. The dinner plates are a good size and it is great price for the food we got two plates of sushi and two dinners with 2 drinks for under $50. I totally recommend this restaurant.

Wasn’t really impressed. Sat down at a table that still had crumbs and wet drink rings from the previous patrons. Had to ask for them to wipe it off. Got to looking around and every third table was the same. Wasn’t even busy either, maybe three tables other than us. The salad had water in the bottom of the bowl which turned the salad dressing into a watery mess. Salad dressings were in ketchup and mustard bottles sitting out on the tables, not refrigerated. On the plus side the waitress was very nice and the service was fast. The prices were pretty good. Just not a very good first impression.

This isn’t your average Japanese restaurant. The food was perfection. The bento box is a great choice if you’re new to Japanese food. They have a decent selection and LOTS OF SUSHI. – This should be obvious, but don’t come here if you have a shellfish or fish allergy. – My husband said the sushi was good and he loved his soup. We both left full and satisfied. The ambience is dark, soft and relaxing. Our booth felt a bit tight, even for us and we’re smaller people.

We were just passing through on a long drive and thought we’d try our luck. I mean, how good can small town Sushi be, right? My wife and I even joked about it a little bit as we pulled in. But this place was no joke. Nice people, fast service, good prices, and the food was VERY GOOD too. We read a bunch of the reviews, and since this place is new it of course has a few wrinkles to iron out, but we are foodies so we mostly care about taste, and most of the reviews mentioned good taste. So we were willing to give them a try since there were only a few negative reviews – and all of those could just be down to maybe an off night, or a bad employee that probably quit or got booted after a week. It’s a new business, so that stuff is expected. Personally, we didn’t see any negatives while we were there ourselves, no real major ones at least. If I had to name one thing, they need to up the size of their spring rolls and/or put more of them on the plate. Anyway, our experience was 99% positive so that tells me this place is at least learning from its early mistakes. I’ve been a new business owner several times and know there’s always a learning curve starting out. Also I’m ex military so I know the difference between slop chow and fine dining. We’ve eaten a lot of different cuisine from all over the world and I would give this an 8 out of 10… and that’s with this little place going up against all the high-end, high-cost, big-city Sushi places we’ve been to (which is a lot). At this place, we tried a variety of appetizers and sushi, and for my main course I had the steak and shrimp and my wife had the veggie stir fry noodles. Both main courses had very complex yet subtle flavors. You can tell the chef gives a damn about freshness and flavor. We weren’t expecting that from a little place like this in a small town. My steak and shrimp were both seared to perfection. The miso soup was very good too. We have made it at home ourselves, and had it at many Japanese places, and to really get it right is damn near an art form… and well, this place’s miso was definitely from scratch, you can tell. If we’re ever down that way again we’ll definitely be checking back in and seeing if its better, worse, or out of business. Hope this place sticks around. I would rate the waitress a 10+ and the food a 10+. It is beautifully decorated, it was excellant, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. It is now my favorite place to eat in Salem, In. Our food and appetizers were excellant and had wonderful flavors. This is what a restaurant is suppose to be.

my experience at this place has always been above average for Salem Indiana. and today I ordered rolls of sushi and rice to go. What I found inside when I got home was disgusting. Two foot long hairs inside a closed container making contact with my food. I called to make a complaint or to even get a free thing of rice. Instead they got mad and hung up on me. They didn’t help whatsoever.
